Fake Zr2?

Hi everyone, first post here. Every time I did a google search for ZR2 this site seemed to come up. I just purchased my first car, a 2001 Blazer ZR2 with 120k. Or so I thought. It looks the part, lift, tires, sticker, Auto-Trac (4 button) 4WD. But I read the deciding factor is a "ZR2" code placed on the label in the glove box. I do not see it anywhere. Also, and I don't know if this matters, this is a Canadian car. Any help would be appreciated.

I don't remember the ZR2s coming with AutoTrac. My 2001 didn't have anyway.

 

Can you post some pics? Take a picture of the rear end housing and the front suspension. That's where the main differences were.

I agree on posting some photos, the RPO code should state it too, and Its not just a body lift as I remember it.

Do you know anyone that can run the VIN for you? That will confirm the RPO codes that are listed in the glove box.

I doubt that it being a Canadian vechicle would make any difference.....I'd be surprised anyways.

Welcome to the forum bdox......

Check under the hood, on the firewall, right behind the distributor. On there you'll find a sticker with a few codes. If your truck is a genuine ZR2, then you'll see, in large block letters, ZR2.

Thanks again guys for all the replies. I was able to get into a GM dealer and confirm via the VIN that my truck is indeed a genuine ZR2. The tech even proceeded to point out where on the glove box label I missed the ZR2 designation. I even got a good deal on some vent shades!
