Need Help Quick!

Normally when I turn the truck off my radio will stay on until I open the door. Well, this morning the radio, and the gauge cluster are staying on after I turn the truck off, open the door, and lock the door.

 

Anyone run across this? I have a 2004 Silverado ext cab.

 

Please help. I'm at work and have very limited time.

It could be ur door ajar switch. Does the radio turn off after about 10 minutes?

I just checked real quick, and it looks like it is off. I'm in a conference call, so I can't really break away to check until around 9:30

Ok. I just checked, and the radio and gauge cluster are both off. I started the truck up and let it run for a minute then turned it off. The radio and guage cluster both shut off correctly. Hmmmm... maybe it was just a one time glitch.

hopefully it was, just keep en eye on it. IF it does it again see if it goes off after about 10 min, if so it's probably the door switch.

Thanks. I spoke to a girl I work with husband who is a GM mechanic, and he said that it might be the BCM. He said just keep an eye on it and let him know if it happens again.

Sounds like the door switch more than the bcm.
