I'm getting a set of long tube headers for my truck (01 1500HD 6.0) they don't come with an EGR, Should i fab up a mount bracket and cut and weld to the headers or should i just block it off and bypass the code it throws with HPTuners? anyone else done this?

It seems to me the engine computers these days take everything into account.

They make adjustments to the fuel and air depending on all sorts of things. The question is would the computer adjust the engine to run properly if the exhaust gas was being told to recirculate (and no exhaust gas was there), or would the computer *assume* that exhaust gas was being fed back into the engine and try to tune for that?

So computer says...

OK, I'm going to send that exhaust back into the engine intake, I know this will increase the temperature of the intake air, there will be less oxygen, and maybe increase the barometric pressure of the intake air, so I will make certain adjustments to fuel, air and spark timing to compensate.

Or does computer do this...

Let's send that exhaust back though the intake, then see what happens - adjust everything based on measurements from various sensors as would be done without the exhaust gas being recirculated.

Here is a bit about EGR. I know the computers take all this stuff into account...
