Jpshostr Posted April 23, 2001 Posted April 23, 2001 My uncle who lives out in Greensboro, NC has arranged for me to fly out there for the 600. Tickets to both the race and the qualifying. Right now he is trying to get a pit pass for me from Bill Davis Racing, who he has done a bunch of work for in his shop. Through his connections I have been given a personal invitation to tour the Davis shop, and hopefully the Petty shop also as he has done quite a bit of work there. First NASCAR race that I'll be going to, sounds like a whole lot of fun to me! Forgot to add, the tickets are in Turn Two. Fine by my standards. (Edited by Jpshostr at 7:30 pm on April 23, 2001)
General Lee 01 Posted April 24, 2001 Posted April 24, 2001 Congratulations. Hopw long you gonna be in NC.
MountaineerTom Posted April 24, 2001 Author Posted April 24, 2001 You couldn't ask for a better place to see your first race. I've been there many times for The Winston, Busch, IROC, and ARCA races. I've never sat in turn two, but that area looks like they would be really good seats. I always sat near the dog legs. It's awesome seeing those cars under the lights. You'll love it.
Kansas Kid Posted April 24, 2001 Posted April 24, 2001 You will have a great time just being at the race and the atmosphere there. But if you got a pit pass that would really top it off. I've never been to Charlotte, but my Dad went back before they ran the 600 at night. He said it is one of the nicest tracks he has gone too. The seats in turn two should be good, but more importantly, how high up are they? On a side note, we finally found out where are seats are for the new Kansas City track. A few rows from the top, just on the turn four side of the start/finish line. Should be good.
