Clutch Engagment Too Close To Floor

on my 01 silverado 4.3, my clutch engages too close to the floor for comfort, i have to press it all the way down to the floor to shift and it engages about 2 to 3 from the floor......

it has full fluid in the resevour, i know your not supposed to have to bleed these systems, but, this seem a bit odd....

Look at the pedal itself. Is there an adjustment in the rod that goes to the clutch master cylinder? I don't know about your particular application but some are adjustable. It's worth a look.

How many miles on that clutch? maybe its time for a replacement if this happened gradually over time

i suppose i could bleed it, but i believe these are supposed to be self bleeding, but you know how that goes, sometimes things need a little persuasion, the truck has 120K on it and i just bought it so i dont know if it happend gradually, but i would think that if it were going bad it would let out at the top instead of the bottom....or am i wrong...

and why can't you bleed the system?

Could have a failing slave cylinder or air in the line... If it needs bleeding, it needs repair. Air does not naturally get in the system.

well, i replaced the clutch, press, plate and throwout bearing etc....has great pedal letting out right where i want it, but now i'm got another prob, when i recently went to louisiana to buy a boat i noticed on the way back to south ms that it started making a rumbling sound or a sound like you'd hear on your bike with cards hitting the spokes, only when the clutch is engaged, by the way i noticed this before i changed the clutch, i thought this was the throw out bearing....but it wasnt.

it doesnt matter in neutral, it does it with the clutch engaged, first gear the same, all the way through fifth, the main thing that I didn notice is that it gets slower sounding as I go from 1st to 2nd 2nd to third etc, and it's barely noticable in high gear, sound like my trans is going bad?...
