I don't know if anybody here cares much for sprint car racing, but if the World of Outlaw cars are ever in your area, I would strongly recommend you go check them out.  I was never a real big fan, but I normally watch them on TV when they are on.  But this weekend they were at http://www.hpt.com, and me and my Dad went Saturday night.

Honestly, I'm not sure if I've ever been to a race I enjoyed more.  There was some inclement weather quickly approaching the track, and the race was handled very proffesionally.  They ran hot laps, qualifing, 3 heat races, a heat race to determine the top 10 starting spots pretty much right in a row.  They then had a 15 minute break, and ran the 35 lap A-feature with 23 cars.  They had to skip the B-feature, but I've never seen NA$CAR handle a situtation this well.

As for the racing, they track was a slightly banked and a little under 3/8 of a mile.  These guys were averaging 114mph in qualifing!  The races had alot of passing, guys smoking that big ole right rear, people pulling the front tires in the air down the straights, and only 2 spinouts.  Donny Schatz's made a pass for the lead, and held on after a restart with 3 laps to go.  Danny Lasoski won on Friday night.  After the race was over, they opened the pits and let the fans go in and look things over.  You could look all over the cars, and me and my Dad got autographs from Danny Lasoski and Mark Kinser without having to wait in line.  All the guys stood around to sign autographs, except for Steve Kinser (who I don't like anyways).  Wish the NA$CAR guys were this available.

So all in all, they put on a great race, and the drivers are a class act.....

I've never seen WoO, but I enjoy the "Cajun Sprints", a local touring series in the Southeast.

I had to have those guys sign my DE hat, because I didn't figure the Mopar Man (Kinser) would have liked signing a Chevrolet Racing T-shirt.  LOL

I also saw a first in all the dirt races I have been too.  There was this guy who was out driving around the track after they watered it, in his Toyota Tacoma 4x4.  The idoit spun out right on the front straight!  I was LMAO!
