P0430 Code 2007 Avalanche

Hey everyone:

 

My '07 Avalanche is throwing a P0430 code every now and then. The code is explained as "right bank catalyst below threshold".

 

From my understanding....the rear o2 sensor on the passenger side is sensing too much "pollution" through that catalytic converter.

 

The truck has @ 40,000 miles on it and runs great. The only mods are a cold air intake...which I just cleaned and oiled along with cleaning the MAF sensor with CRC MAF sensor cleaner.

 

The truck is extremely well cared for...oil change every 3-5 k etc...

 

I can't believe that the cat has failed after only 40,000 miles!

 

Any thoughts on this?

Posting the same thing several times on the same forum is typically frowned upon.

 

EDIT: It's possible that the downstream O2 sensor is bad. I think there's a 100,000 mile emission warranty, someone else can confirm or deny that.

Cat converters are under an 80K mile warranty, take her in!
