Hmm, I was going to chime in and suggest turning the knob to the left as stated above...worked on my 2005 silverado. Then it hit me that mine came from the Boston area. Why the heck would it be different between the US and Canada? :)

It might be part of the mandatory DRLs that Canada has.

I remember seeing a thread a long time ago about this. I believe the Canadian sold models don't have the manual overrides that the US models of the same years have

My 2000 Silverado owner's manual says to push the dome over ride button 4 or 5 times within 5 seconds, and it worked for me one night driving though the Christmas lights. Just before the guy in front of me whipped my butt for blinding him. :)

I'm trying to remember how I did it on my 03. I believe you could turn CCW and then tap the dome override button a few times? try it - it's free..

my 07 classic DRL would turn off when in park during the day and at night you just had to turn dial CCW.

Under the hood their is a relay (sometimes 3 of them) for the headlamps... Pull it/them... They will go completely out. Edgewise a hammer works pretty good when used on lenses and bulbs...... hahaha.... jk

I seem to remember when I bought my truck they told me how to turn the DRL off with the dome over ride.... It was kinda like a oil reset... You had to have the truck in park, the emergency brake not set, then you had to press the dome over ride some number of times with in 5 seconds, then something flashes to tell you it has turned the DRL's off. I do not remember how many times or what should flash any more thou.

It is normal where I live to have heavy fog from time to time. DRL's are a great idea. A white vehicle in fog is really hard to see. DRL's allow you to see the car approaching you very easily.
