Possibly Tranny Problem?

Hello, Hopefully I come to the people that can help me before i junk the love of my life!

So we start back when i did the brakes take it out, I felt them grabbing pulled off to the side stoped got out checked and looked, smelt and felt fine. so i get back in turn it off wait 5mins then turn it over and give it gas, then hear a shot gun, get it home(got pulled) and take the diff cover off and ALL my gears are now in this oil pan. So i get a new one in and a week possibly two go by and now I was out driving get to my buddies and I feel it pull. Get my father to look at it and when its in drive you can go up to 14mph, any more and it binds up and jerks. So to get it home, we put it in First gear(automatic) and drive the shoulder all the way home, put it in reverse its fine, drive, up untill 14mph its fine, 1st its fine, second and wont move a inch, 3rd and it will go untill it has to shift into 2nd then binds.

Im not sure if its the Tcase or Tranny, I checked my tranny fluid and thought I smelt a hint of gas but not sure. I crawled under it and went to drop the Driveshaft and it was so cramed in there I had to pry it off. Im at the end of my rope here. Now some shop wants me to drive it in, only way thats gonna happen is if its in 1st and i take the shoulder there!

If anyone has any information or any idea PLEASE reply back!

-Sincerely Alex!

We need alot more info

Fuel pressure good? Any SES light? Any misfires? MAF codes? Trans fluid level and condition ok? BTW...no way you have gas in the trans fluid....

I don't like the part in your post where you say "let it sit 5 minutes..give it gas and bang"

That tells me you are doing neutral-drops. Rear diffs DO NOT grenade by themselves...

You gotta give more info..but with actual numbers and actual inspections...

And what's all this crap about 14mph....you better explain this...

The crap about the 14mph is if i put it in drive it will go good until 14mph, once it hits that or try's to go above that it locks up, seems like it wont shift into 2nd possibly, forget the other shit about the rear end, only time iv done a neutral drop was when i first owned the truck and that was on accident, (learned from that mistake). The fluid levels are all good, nothing over heats there are no misfires, no hesitation on starting and when i drive it in 1st gear its all good. i said it seemed like i smelt a hint of gas in the tranny fluid, i was not sure so i thought i would say it to see. the letting it sit for 5mins was to in fact let it sit and cool off and give me a few minutes to recap what could have been wrong. thats with the old rear end that blew up so forget all that, only reason i brought that up was to see if when the rear end blew if possibly my tranny and Tcase went with it, but that dosnt make sense to me because after the new rear end was in it drove around fine for about 2 weeks.

side note, once we got it home, checked all the fluids and what have you, we took it back out and for about 2mins it was fine it would shift and accelerate normaly but then we came to a stop and then it went back to hell.

and it is possible to get gas in your tranny fluid due to i believe the vacume modulator, and if you have an internal leak.

not sure what a MAF code is, if you can tell me i can hopefully get it.

Vacuum modulators...last one I saw was on a 1990 Lesabre...GM retired most vacuum modulators be the early 90's

Dude...your truck is ALL electronic...TRANS included.
