Cleaning Door Protectors

I should have protected them with a coat of wax, but after a winter of no washes, the plastic guards on the outside of the doors have imbedded dirt that won't come out. Scrubbing with soap & hot water with sponges and brushes will get most, but leaves the fine stuff. Any answers?

Try a clay bar. The problem may be the plastic is actually eroded away. Thanks to CDOT and their insatiable use of Mag Chloride, mine are permanently damaged. And GM won't fix under warranty...
