Gmc Pal - Personal Audio Link

Does anybody know if the installation kit for the PAL has a USB port on it? I've got a different brand of mp3 player, but would like to hook it up through the PAL if possible so I can regain use of my steering wheel controls etc. I've got it plugged in the aux slot right now.

So if I buy the PAL setup I should be able connect an ipod dock/usb converter to the ipod connection from the stereo and hook up my mp3 player. If anybody sees a problem with this let me know.

Why couldn't GM just put a USB connection on the PAL?

peripheral electronics makes one. It has two different inputs. I know that the one for the ipod allows steering wheel control, you can hood something else up through the other input, a little reading would probably tell you what mp3 players can be used.

I bought mine through my local dealership.....I got the part # of the GM Accessories website

Hello folks,

Newbie here to this forum. New GMC owner as well. Question. I want to integrate the PAL interface into my Navigation-based audio system for IPOD use. The wording on the GMC site is:

For Use with Audio Systems (US8, US9, UVA and U2K), Not For Use with Navigation Radio

Is PAL an option or not with the Navigation system. If not, is Peripheral Electronics the only company that does the aftermarket integration?
