Has Belltech Re-designed Their Drop Spindles?

Reading some of the older posts from 2002-2005 and several folks say stay away from the Belltech spindles.

That the turning radius is awful.

 

Did Belltech do a re-design on their OBS GM 2" drop front spindles?

 

Are there any real concrete differences between the OBS Belltech and the McGaughy spindles, or does it just boil

down to fierce brand loyalty as shown in other things like oil, filters, and beer?
