New Wheels And Tires, Tpms Question

got some new wheels, tires and leveling kit installed on my 07 silverado. The tire shop couldn't get the sensors out of the oem wheels w/o breaking them, so now my dash light is blinking and reads service monitoring system. Is there anyway (I searched some here) to disable the system? I've read in some other forums (different types of cars) that there's a wire that can be cut that doesn't allow the system to initialize and therefore will not set off the light. Any input would be helpful, thanks

Umm, find a new tire shop.

The TPMS are just attached to the valve stem with a screw. When installing into new wheels, new valve stems (of the proper type) need to be used anyway for the TPMS modules. Any good tire shop should have the valve stems already in stock.

Well, for less than $100 you could get new sensors. Not sure why the tire shop gave up on getting the factory ones out. I've been told by many sources you can't disable unless your doing something like your talking about and I wouldn't.

I know they are a pain... but just getting yourself an extra set would be your best option. I've seen guys sell them pretty cheap from time to time.
