Yes, I think it should work. I just put a new '09 unit in my '07. Everything works great without programming, as long as you don't want your XM or OnStar. All other features work great. If you get a new unit, you will not need to get dealer programming to unlock the Theftlock as your truck's VIN will be the first stored in the unit. If your unit is new, you will only need programming to:

a) have the new unit recognize your XM module (make sure you jot down the XM Unit # off of Channel 0 before disconnecting your stock unit)

b) have the new unit recognize your OnStar module

c) If you get a DVD unit, have it programmed to read "Region 1 NTSC" regional DVDs.

I'm taking mine in for dealer programming on Thursday, ONLY because I can't live without my XM. OnStar and DVD playback I don't really care about, but it will be nice to have them back.

Now, if you buy a unit that is used or has been previously installed, you'll definately need to visit the dealer to program everything (remove the Theftlock, configure the radio, etc.etc.etc.)

Oh yeah, the Part # of the 2009 Unit I installed: 25891155
