How To Remove Scratches And Dried Paint

Recommended Posts

Just finished washing my new truck and trying to get the scratches off with some scratch remover paste. Well thats not working. Some of the scratches are deep into the clearcoat and some are down to the metal, which I know I will have to use some touch up paint. Question is how do you remove the scratches and also I have some dried on paint blotches, its a brownish color and on a blue truck it does stand out, and its on the hood. So any ideas on how to get that off?

So, have you removed dried up paint spots before? That is what I have on my truck, plus I think some of the scratches are through the clear coat.

I would try some prep-sol (Dupont) on the dried paint.

I agree with the poorboys that stuff works great and about 2-3 yrs ago I started using it. Well worth the $$$

Do you both use a polisher to use this stuff? A polisher is something I don't have at the moment.
