Where Do You Buy Your Zaino?

I've always used Klasse AIO and Klasse SG combined with P21S wax. I'm starting to run low so I'm going to try Zaino this time around. I'm going to start off with Z-18, Z-AIO, ZFX, Z2-PRO, and Z-CS. Does anyone have suggestions on the best places on the 'net to buy Zaino products?

I believe he has taken it all in-house now. Last I checked you couldn't get it through distributors any more but can order it from his site:

Good deal. That is where I was looking to buy it but wanted to check on here first before I placed the order. I'm still new to the Zaino product line so I wasn't sure how the distribution was set up. Thanks! :D

No problem. I think you will be really happy with his products. If you haven't already read them, he has some pretty good tips and tricks listed on his site.

 

If you're switching over, I'd be sure and take the time to strip all the old stuff off. Wash with Dawn, use claybar, wash with Z-7, apply Z-5 if you have any minor scratches or swirls then follow with a coat of Z-2 if you have time/beer left. If you don't have many scratches the Z-2 will be fine, but I would do 2 coats it looks amazing afterwards. The more coats the better! :thumbs: The Z-6 works really well in between waxing and I even like the Z-16 Tire gloss better than other products I have tried. Anyway good luck and have fun!!

I was reading the website and it says to use dawn to strip wax. All the other detail websites I read says to stay away from dawn. I am a little confused has anyone else used Dawn to strip wax and then clay,polish,wax?

In addition to removing contaminants on the paint, won't the clay bar remove all the old wax as well? I don't feel good about using Dawn on the paint.

Yes it will remove some of the wax. But trust me, it will make the paint feel like glass. :( You will wonder why you didn't do it sooner. Just remember to protect the paint after you clay bar.

 

One time with Dawn will be fine. The first layer of Zaino should be on the paint. Not old wax.

Using Dawn once to remove the old wax is okay. Make sure you rinse really well to make sure no residue is left behind. Also, a clay bar won't remove your wax. It will just glide over the wax and pick up the surface contaminants.

Zaino still sells thru distributors, Zaino also sells direct beause in many areas there are no distributors. :D

OK good to know. I clay bar each time before I polish/wax but I was under the assumption it removed the old wax as well. I'll try washing with dawn on our commuter car and see how that works before using it on the truck or bimmer. thanks for the heads up. :D

You guy's should really check out www.autopia.org The site is full of proffessional detailers and guy's with years of experience in the automotive refinsihing business.

 

I am learned a ton of stuff just reading various posts and I use to work at a car detailing shop! Great site, especially for us anal type guy's who really care what our ride's look like :D

      While waiting for parts I have been working on installing the AC compressor, new accumulator, and orifice tube. Also changed out the high side ball valve (original). The orifice tube that was in there wasn't too bad. Slightly dirty, a little bit of junk, but not blocked. Glad I changed it out.   The accumulator, which should have been a 5 minute job, may have just burned $50. Put some PAG in it, wrote the date and mileage on the side, fresh o-rings and gooey'd up the threads and rings with Nylog. Got everything connected and snugged and was going to vacuum down the system, and....   My manifold gauge won't fit on the port. It's not an R12 service port. It LOOKS like an R134 service port but the diameter is a hair too large. There's a sticker on the accumulator that says it's designed to be used with R12 and R134a systems only. So it's not R1234yf. Even if I reduced the diameter slightly with a file, the shoulder on the port is too large so the quick-connect valve won't lock on. I'm stumped. It's going back, and 50/50 on if they'll give me a refund.   Also, I did a fuel pressure test.... Key on, the gauge spikes to about 60psi and quickly bleeds off, like 2psi per second. The fuel isn't going into the plenum, no smell, starts fine, so I'm guessing there's a bad check valve in the pump and the fuel is just draining back into the tank. oh, hell. But, it shouldn't be a problem, pump primes just fine and the truck starts right up. It just means I can't really ever use fuel pressure to verify a leak at the injector or intake.

      Got this yesterday out of nowhere. Truck is a 25',6.6 gasser with 8k miles.  Only semi anomaly is that the truck had been sitting, uncranked for 6 days. Elec Stability Control showed immediately upon cranking, not while driving. No drivability issues, just the message. Battery didn't seem to be weak when cranking over.  I drove it, killed it, let it sit a few hrs with no avail.  Truck is 100% stock. No damage.

      This can be done.  It is not cheap and requires an instrument cluster swap with custom programming, new steering wheel with the controls on it, and a special jumper harness.   The cluster upgrade - 12.3” Digital Cluster Upgrade – 2022.5–2026 Silverado / Sierra (T1 Refresh Pickup) - WAMS   The wheel upgrade - Steering Wheel Upgrade Kit – 2022.5–2026 Silverado / Sierra (T1 Refresh Pickup) - WAMS   The column harness upgrade - 2019 - 2026 Silverado / Sierra: Steering Wheel LIN Bus Harness - Harness Dr. - DIY Done Right     The problem with doing all of this?  You pretty much can't have any programming done to your truck that involves the cluster ever again.  The dealer won't be able to program the cluster as GM's system will only pull data for the cluster the truck came with.  So it would be advised also to turn off over the air updates.   TLDR;  Should have bought an LT double cab?  You'd have a power seat, the wheel controls, the cluster, all things that you've been seeking in your various posts so far about your new WT regular cab.
