Headers 101

Can some members give some tips on headers for a 07 silverado 5.3L. What to look for and some of the better comapnys would be great. I installed a corsa touring exhaust and airaid cold air box and wanted to find headers to compliment.

Really depends on your budget...Dynatech and american racing headers are probably the best, but are about $1300.

Come in 1 3/4 and 1 7/8 primaries and are solid stainless steel. I ended up getting the American racing headers and am extremely happy with them.

I started looking for long tube headers for my 2006 5.3L GMC, but all I keep finding are the shorties. I realize this probably due to the fact that fabrication will be necessary to install long tube headers in my truck, but I would like to know which headers will work that will only require me to modify the exhaust system only. What are you long tube header guys using for catalytic converters?

Check out the Dynatech Supermaxx sytem with high flow cats. I installed them in my truck along with the Corsa Sport exhaust and NO modifications were needed. Everything bolted right up and fits perfectly into place.

For you guys w/ long tube headers how noticeable were the performance gains going from stock to what you have now? Was the improvement as noticeable as when you got your first performance tune? Thanks.
