Tire Opinions

Will soon need to replace my Firestone Destination LE tires on my 01 Silverado 2wd extcab sb. The three tires I am contemplating are Toyo open country at, Firestone Destination at, Goodyear Wrangler silent armor. I like the looks of the Toyo the best. All opinions welcome.

Alot of guys run the Nitto Terra Grappler, they are basically the same thing as the toyo but cheaper in price and from what reviews I have seen better quality and they are made from the same company so I hear.... I just put 305/65/17 Mickey Thompson Baja ATZ's on mine, I havent put that many miles on since I got them on so I can tell you how they wear, but I have read a bumch of reviews and I liked what i read

I had the Toyo's and they were a great tire, just a little pricey. This time I went with the Cooper Zeon LTZ's. I like them a lot and for the price they could not be beat.

I am staying with the size tire my truck came with 255/70/16 and in that size I was quoted $145 a tire for the Toyos, $129 for the Firestones.

BFG AT's...really soft ride and I get excellent tread life WITH regular rotation at oil change. I got 45,000 on my first set of tires. On my second set now and still like them.

i like my nittos, but they are a very stiff tire- load range E and 10 ply (7 tread, 3 sidewall). ive got a fair amounf tread lift and ive put alot of miles on them.

BFG All-Terrain or Goodyear Silent Armor, both of these are good choices

I have the Nitto TG's as well. No complaints here.

I had the Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armor's on my previous truck and they were excellent, but they were pricey!

Ive got the Nitto Terra Grappler ATs, I like em so far. I will probrably go with the Cooper Zeon LTZs next though.

I've put Destination ATs on three vehicles and they have been great tires. One Suburban, One Ford Explorer, One Jeep Cherokee. Great ride and excellent in the rain.

i had bfg km's on my tundra i have km2's on my z71 both are very nice tires

Price wise it would seem the Destination AT would be the choice, looks go to the Toyos, are the Goodyears a lot more expensive?Do they perform better or last longer? I like the looks of the Goodyears the least. The Goodrich tires would be great but they seem to be very expensive.

If I wanted 285/70/17 for my truck, I would be paying ~$225 each for either the Goodyear Silent Armor or BFG ATs. Expensive as hell, that is for sure.

I had the Toyos on my old truck, and they were great. Excellent in dry, wet, dirt, and mud.
