Okay, not new to the GM truck world, just this new thing I am playing with for a DD.

I'm 42, work in the IT industry (security - firewall/network stuff), 10yr military veteran, 2 kids and a wife, yada, yada.......

Current GM trucks in my family:

ours

2001 1500 Suburban 4wd

1999 Blazer 4dr 4wd

in-laws

2003 2500HD 4wd duramax/allison SWB

2001 tahoe 4wd

1991 1/2 ton SWB

dad

2002 silverado 1500 2wd ext SWB

past trucks I can remember

1999 silverado 1500 2wd ext SWB

1994 s-10 ext 2wd (still have this in the family, but is in need of much TLC)

1970 c-10 LWB(stolen, stripped, and burned) Long story.

1966 c-10 LWB

right now I am up against a mental wall with the 1999 blazer. I'll post in the tech section asking for advice.

BTW. I'm not a snob of other brands, but we're a GM family and I married into a GM family though my sister-in-law just got an import something.... it's cute and driven by the wrong two wheels, but it gets good mileage and has one of those nice warranties.

Oh she's okay. It was purely a financial decision to get the most bang for the buck and not have to do any of the work on it. Which is a relief for me because I am the 'family' wrench. I don't get tasked often, but when I get tapped it's usually a whopper.

Let me also state a couple other things.

Forgot the 94 SS S-10 my dad had for a few years. I wanted it, but when he went looking for a new truck the dealer asked to take a look at it and essentially had it sold by the time they brought it back. I think the folks buying my dad's SS left the lot with it before he did with his new Silverado.

Also....my 94 S-10 ext-cab 2wd.....I built it for autocrossing. Have a pic of it with a rear tire off the ground when I was doing a late-apex corner. Sway bars, shocks, lowered, headers, edelbrock intake, tuning, locker, shift-kit, some turbo-city TBI stuff, C/K fuel pump, etc. Wasn't much on top end, but it made a LOT of low-end torque. Sticky autox tires and I could swap ends on it real quick if I wasn't careful. Sounded like a modded TR when they aren't under boost. It's sitting in my father-in-law's shop waiting for me to do something with it. I sold it to my brother-in-law who in turn enjoyed it to DEATH. He sold it to my father-in-law who has now given it back to me.

Sis lives near Mauston and has a '03 (I think) Z71 ext-cab SWB.

All of is have 5.3s except for the Duramax.....which is stock except for the K&N drop in and Diablo predator. Hoping to put a cat-back on it this year.
