Nav Accuracy Problems

Recommended Posts

just installed the GMX-322 lockpick in my 09 sierra and now the nav is about 150 behind where i am at on the road most of the time.

everything else about it is great, used it to get my backup cam working

dvd in motion is cool

being able to turn the backup can on any time is really cool

i have my ipod hooked to the other inputs, so i can watch movies from it.

do all lockpicks make your nav accuracy be off?

anybody else have this problem?

anybody have a lockpick that doesn't couse the nav accuracy to be off?

thanks

You need to disable the nav lockout feature. Your Nav system uses both GPS and the Vehicle speed sensor (VSS) to determine where you are. If you turn it off with the lockpick, the NAV gets confused.

So once you've done what you want to do, such as entering an address, hit the Mute button twice to disable the lockpick function. It should figure out where you are within a few seconds.

i know the the nav stops altogether when when you have that feature in use, and it times out after 30 sec. even with it off and after the nav finds where you are at, it is still of by a good margin most of the time.

i have made sure to hit the mute twice, hear the 2 beeps, dvd not bypassed, and still not close on the accuracy

i can be 50 feet passed an itersection, that the nav shows i am just going through

I'd check the dip switches on the unit and reference the manual. There is an option where you can set it to automatically enable that feature. Mine was set to that when I first installed it, but I turned it off after I noticed that while I was going for a test drive. The manual notes that it doesn't work correctly for most vehicles.

Also if you press Mute 4x, it'll keep the lockout feature engaged until you turn off the vehicle or press mute 2x. Just in case you wanted to use it longer.

Nope, works just fine. If I enable it, then yeah, it'll do just what you're describing where it gets a bit lost and confused. The manual isn't the most clear when it comes to those dip switches, but it doesn't take too much to figure them out. Just have to go for a drive while it's all taken apart to test everything out and make sure it does what you want it to. Good luck!
