Quick Tpms Question

hello all, i have an 07 nbs 2500hd, in order for my truck to pass its emissions test here, i am not allowed to have any dash lights on at all. (i once had a tester fail my vehicle due to the seatbelt light being on, had to convice her to come out and see that if she buckled it, it would turn off!)

 

my question is this, when i do new wheels and tires, if i dont want the tpms installed, can i properly air the factory tires with tpms and have them in the bed of my truck to keep the dash light off?

 

if this wont work, i may just leave my factory wheels on until i pass my e-check, then worry about it again in 2 years.

Dealer will not shut them off. They are a federally mandated item. We just have to live with it. I like it on mine.

 

Just buy sensors for the new tires and wheels. What the hell, it's CHEAP insurance against ruining a tire or expensive wheel or rolling your truck into a ball.

if i buy wheels/tires here locally, i will put the tpms in. But if i buy a wheel/tire kit online, i'm not paying 250.00 to have them put tpms in them. that why i asked if to pass e-check, having my factory wheels/tires in the bed would keep the dash light off.

OR...................

Have all your sensors placed inside your spare tire inflate to factory specs.

Reset the positions on the DIC................

 

NO more warning light !

 

Then you are free to buy any set of clown wheels and tires you like

and not have any TPMS issues again.

 

I have read of this solution here and elsewhere to get around the TPMS

and replacement NON factory tire and rim issues.
