Rear Bumper 2008 Gmc Sierra

backed into pole on my lunch break.

 

bumer is bowed a bit in the middle, was shoved in on the passenger side enough to hit the quater pannel and shove it over a bit to now rub against the tailgate.

 

how long am i looking at in getting the thing apart/off, and will a hammer work out most of the kinks??

the only thing i can say is that hitting it with a hammer will probably cause more damage than what there already is. The out come of hitting the bumper or panel with the hammer is scratches and lots of small dents and if yur hitting the panel with the hammer uses a rubber head hammer. Using a rubber head hammer is your best bet for minimal damage. you can check the following link for more info
