Oil Change On Gmt900 V6 - 5 Quarts?

Just went and bought some Mobil 1 synthetic 5W-30 and a Mobil 1 oil filter .. I searched and found some posts for the 5.3 V8 saying it takes 6 quarts .. Just want to make sure, the 4.3 V6 only needs 5 quarts right?

I put five quarts with a filter in my '06 V6, and all is fine. Yes, 5 quarts.

4.5 quarts with filter plainly printed on pg. 626 in the owners manual

When looking for capacities of fluids I always go to the back in the index. Look under 'specifications' --> 'capacities'. Probably also listed under just capacities. Index is your friend ;).

Book says 4.5 with filter, I've always heard/done 5 with filter. Better to have a little extra than not enough.

Better to put in less, check dipstick, and add if need be.
