2007 Nbs 2500 Rust!

Recommended Posts

I have a 2007 NBS 2500 crew/short 4x4 Duramax that I bought new in 11/2007. On the floor between the plastic trim piece and the rubber door seal I have a lot of rust. Is this common? What is GM's rust warranty? It is only on the front doors. Any input is appreciated!

Right off GM website

Covered for 6 years/100,000 miles

Corrosion Protection

Chevrolet vehicles are designed and built to resist corrosion. All body and sheet metal components are warranted against rust-through corrosion for six years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first. Application of additional rust-inhibiting materials is not required under the corrosion coverage and none is recommended. See your Chevrolet dealer for terms of this limited warranty.

Someone else had this problem a while ago on their 1500 if I remember correctly. I think GM basically said to bring it back when it went all the way through.

And DAM that is a nice looking watch.

At 17 I've already come to realize that there's 2 kinds of people in the world. Those who are going be polite about hurting your feelings, and those who couldn't care less how you feel.

agree with the dealer saying touch luck. like it was stated theirs is a rust through warranty. knew a guy they said that through for a body panel rusting, so after using straight acetyline (not lit) on the spot it finished its rot through. so undercoating is a must for all vehicles, the wifes and mine goes in next week.

Thats not the metal rusting,Thats the door weatherstrip itself,The rubber is ripped and thats the metal reinforcement rusting,You need new door weatherstrips.

I have had it for 3 years and it is awesome. I have some other watches (Rolex Submariner, Luminox, Seikos and Citizens) and it is the one I wear daily. It is a very heavy watch, and after getting used to it all other watches feel like ladies watches...hahaha

I have this happening on my 2007. So if it is the weather stripping rusting, will the dealer replace that or is it coming out of my pocket?
