What Is The Extra Plug For

Recommended Posts

I just finished putting in my OEM-1 radio add an amplifier kit (had too many issues with interference using hi-level inputs) and noticed a plug that was in a "dummy port," similar to the DIC plug. At the bottom radio/HVAC controls I have: O ===== O, which is the 12V outlet, small storage that doesn't fit anything, 12V outlet. On the backside of the storage is where the dummy port/plug is. Just wondering what this goes to, my guess was something for auto climate control.

Seth,I think any plugs behind there would be for options such as pwr. adjustable pedals, heated washer fluid, rear parking assist, and Stabilitrak. If you have any of these options the switches for them are located between the 12V outlets you have.

Would it be possible to install those options easily if the plugs are already there?

Unfortunately, that would probably be quite difficult and expensive Jason. You'd be missing the electric motor for the power pedals, heating system for the washer fluid, sensors in the rear bumper for park assist etc. and the wiring that goes with all that stuff.
