Fan Clutch - 2002 Silverado

2002 silverado 5.3

 

Seems like the fax clutch stays on all the time ( can't really tell if it's on over 40mph) Even first thing in the morning when it's cold. Is this normal ?

 

I can see it staying on during the day... it's been 95 degrees here in Fla the last few weeks. But in the morning ?

 

i know the part is pretty cheap, but is it easy to change?

Changing it is pretty simple if you've got the right tools. I used a strap wrench on the pulley and a large adjustable wrench to remove mine. They do make a specific tool for the job but this works just fine.
