Popnlock Power Tailgate Lock Wiring Problems

Tried to install the PopNLock power tailgate lock on the 09 Sierra. Having trouble with the wiring. Instructions say to wire to the tan and grey wires found in dash fuse panel. There are several grey and tan wires present. Their technical assistance was zero help. After browsing the internet I even tried to remove driver door panel and attach to one of the four wires going to door latch motor. Again no luck. The actuator does work if you run across battery. Could it be a problem with relays? Any advice as to wiring diagram would greatly be appreciated. If it works it is suppose to lock/unlock the tailgate lock with key fob.

Go into the window swtich and yes it will work with the key fob ive done a few before..

i forget how it goes but i think the reg/ext cabs the wires are right behind the seat under the sill plate and the crews you have to go into the door.

If you already went into the door panel, then simply find the wire that is activated when the you lock/unlock your door lock. You can do this with a volt meter. Once you find it, go ahead and tap into a 12 volt source at the fuse box, and using a relay, send the power to the door actuator. You can keep the relay and wiring in the drivers side door (or passengers if you prefer), and simply send the wire with power back to the rail gate actuator. Key is to find the wire in the door that is momentarily powered when you lock/unlock. Good luck. Al

Appreciate the replies. Kit comes with wiring harness and relays. Instructions say to tap into grey and tan wires, however could'nt get the actuator to work. Called popnlock co and they said it 'has never happened' but that they would send a replacement harness with relays incase the relays are bad. Very frustrating...I have installed power running boards, off road lights, dvd players, stereos in my vehicles for years. Everything has been plug and play. Their tech support says their instructions are from an installation in an 07 and that maybe there was a change in wiring for 09. Guess I'll have to buy a manual with wiring diagram. Was hoping someone on this forum had either installed on of these PopNLock kits and/or had some insight into 09 crew truck wiring diagram for the door lock/unlock.
