Installing Step Bars

I'll be installing them on my 01 Crew Cab and I've never removed the body mount bolts, and I don't want to find out I should have done something after the fact. It looks like a pretty straight forward job. The bars are made by Westin.

What say you?

it's a piece of cake just have a live body to hold one end or a cushined jack stand while you put a bolt in . shouldent take over 1/2 hour ,on a drive on hoist they go on at light speed .

On my 09 Silverado, make sure the Bar mounts do not touch the hard truck mounts. It will cause a sound short and you will get squeaking when you go over any uneven ground.

Had the same thing on my 09 with DeeZee nerd boards. Played around with them for awhile then finally said the hell with it and ground down the spots that were rubbing.

FWIW I did also have the spray on rust protection for the frame so that might have caused part of my problem.
