Any No-drone Exhaust?

Is there any catback or muffler's for the trucks that don't drone on the highway? i'd like one that has some bark when you go WOT but little to NOTHING at cruise. Just seeing what my options are:)

Only reason i ask is i like the sound of the Flowmaster that i had on my '00 4.8 Silverado and loved it when on the gas but hated the drone at cruise

Do they make a single IN dual OUT muffler? idk if i want to Y off after the cats and throw 2 under there. If i have to then that's fine but would rather not

Sounds like Corsa has the popular vote but I thought I also read where Magnaflow was also really good. If I remember correctly it is also a hell of alot cheaper.

The Flowmaster 70 Big Block II drones a LITTLE, but it is more than tolerable. Now, the FM 50? :P

Corsa FTW !

Didn't like the exhaust tips, they looked like goofy trumpets. :P Replaced them with straight Magnaflows tips. Much more better.

originally put a Flowmaster Big Block 50 series on my 6.0 HD...was on for over a year, and I never was happy with it. It had a raspy cackling sound and some interior resonance, but not too bad.....

Last week I had a Magnaflow installed and really like it. I went with the 26" or 28" longer version of the magnaflow, as it is supposed to be quieter.

The first few days I was upset because it was too dammm quiet....I could only hear the exhaust at 3500 rpm...

Well, after a few hundred miles it opened up some, and now it sounds really good...not loud, but healthy. At 3500 rpms it really sounds great.

It has a much softer rumble than the flowmaster and more of the traditional small block chevy sound.

On my particular truck, there is absolutely no resonoance in the cab....in fact, when it shifts into overdrive at less than 55 mph, it can't be heard.

My son loves the sound and the rumble, so he ordered a magnaflow for his 8.1 big block...he got the shorter one for more noise, but the non-cackling flowmaster sound....we'll see about the resonance.

i had the same concerns as you...I went with a 24 inch long magnaflow muffler and I hardly notice it at highway speeds but it sounds great when you stomp on it

I had a Magnaflow Catback and really liked the way it sounded. It did get a tad too loud and had highway drone when I started to put engine mods on, so I switched to a Corsa Touring.

I completely agree. I went with the magnaflow which was a compromise between price and highway drone. You definitely notice the drone especially at highway speeds going uphill. But the price was right, $405 including shipping from performancepeddler.com (that was for the single-in dual rear exit). The magnaflow sounds awesome on the street, but if you are looking for absolutely zero highway noise you will not be satisfied. I do not mind it at all, you can still listen to the radio and carry on a conversation without having to raise your voice but you can hear it. Magnaflow imo is better than flowmaster for highway noise, but if your want the best you will have to pay for the best and get the corsa.
