I just had that error code and it turned out to be a fouled air flow sensor at the air filter box.

I don't know what GM used too clean it but it's all good now.

I personally think It was a direct result of using a K & N air filter system which has been completely

removed and put back too stock. So hopefully no more error code?

The MAF sensor signal is not within a predetermined range of the calculated value.

i've had my 03 sierra for 4 years now and i changed o2 sensors twice.i've been having po402 code for a couple weeks now and i've been clearing them codes thinking it was bad gas or false reading.now yesterday it come up with the po101 and it's dieseling,no power stalling, and also po300

Did you have a question?

FYI - You can search google.com for trouble codes and what they mean. You can do this by searching for...

DTC P0402

or

Diagnostic Trouble Code P0402

Note that the above begins with "P0" and not "Po" or "PO".

The first example is the letter P and a Zero (the number). Correct!

The second example is the letter P and a lower case o (the letter).

The third example is the letter P and an upper case O (the letter).

It is important when searching the internet to use the correct word, code, term, etc. This could make the difference in finding all sorts of information, or not much information.

Then if you want to ask for help on the internet with your vehicle, it is a big help to ask a specific question like "What is causing this problem?", "What should I do to fix this?", "I'm going to take my vehicle to my mechanic and am wondering what the problem could be?", "Is this something I should be concerned with and should I take my vehicle to my mechanic?", etc. (Let us know what you want specifically.)

Then also it is a big help to give as much information about your vehicle as possible. Year, model, engine like 5.7L, 4x4 or 2 wheel drive, etc.

Example: 1992 GMC Sierra 2500 5.7L SLE Extended Cab 4x4 Long bed

Or at least give information about the things on your vehicle you are asking about. Like if asking about engine questions, for example...

1992 GMC Sierra 2500 5.7L 4x4

(Give the basic model and type of engine. The engine could be 2.5L, 2.8L, 4.3L, 5.0L, 5.7L, or 7.4L) Different engines have different gizmos.

Anyway here is a search of google.com for...

Diagnostic Trouble Code P0402

Here is a search of google.com for...

Diagnostic Trouble Code P0300

Tip: If you are having a lot of trouble codes and these have to do with the "range" of various sensors, it is a good idea to do a basic check of your electrical system first.

Electronic "gizmos" do not like "low voltage". If your battery drops to around 9 volts with the ignition on (not started), then electronic things will begin to have problems.

The battery should be 12 something volts with the ignition on (not started), then go up to 13/14 volts after starting. This is when the alternator kicks in and starts charging the battery.

If the alternator or charging system fails, then everything runs off the battery. The battey does not get recharged and gets weaker and weaker. This means lower and lower voltage.

The engine computer looks at various sensors to be sure they are working correctly. It may expect to see 10 volts from a particular sensor and if the computer saw this, it would know the sensor was working ok. But if the battery is only 9 volts, the most that sensor could send to the computer would be 9 volts! So the computer says "Hey! There is something wrong with this sensor! It is sending information out of the "range" it should be sending!"

    • New to diesel trucks. I happened to find my oil cooler leaking oil externally with only 4,000 miles on the truck. I didn’t realize this was an issue until I started researching it. Dealer is going to replace it under warranty but I’m wondering if there’s anything GM is working on to fix this issue. I’ve heard the oil filter used is the same as they use on their V6 motors and that’s what is causing the problems. Should I switch to a bigger filter or keep using the OEM recommended?
    • So, GMCustomerService:  Judging by the Update History pictured above, is this truck missing any updates that it actually needs. If it's just for the infotainment system, the radio is working fine and no trouble with SeriusXM. and Android Auto is working fine wirelessly with my phone. Some months ago, an update notice was sent to my truck. I approved the update and it finished saying that the update was successful, but it seems that whatever that update was, it didn't actually get installed - at least not if I'm to go by the Update History shown above.   So, again, are there any updates that this truck really should have? I've checked with my dealer but they're reluctant or commit to anything and if I want them to check, they require a $200.00 fee just to check it out and then I'd have to pay for the actual update(s).    Ignorance is bliss, and if none of the updates goes to fixing any mechanical discrepancies, I'll just leave things as is.
    • Hey everyone, I recently had an issue with my 07 2500HD GMT900. My DRL’s stay on at all times. Right front turn and right mirror turn signal indicator stay on solid at all times. By “at all times” I mean the only way to make them go off is disconnecting the battery. I tore the headlight assemblies out, tried disconnecting the harnesses to eliminate bad wiring at the harness, I unplugged the headlight switch, no change and the mirror turn signal still stayed on. My first thoughts were : Bad bulb and/or socket somewhere, under hood fuse panel bad, bcm bad, tail light or trailer wiring problem, or some random short to power in the harness.  Possibly a bad ground but unlikely. I had a big clue in the fuse panel, it had a burnt smell. I started pulling every fuse that had to do with DRL or right turn/park lamp. Nothing made the right directional turn off but pulling the DRL2 fuse made the DRL’s go out.  After studying wiring diagrams, I found that both problems had that fuse panel in common, the bcm also controls both problems but knowing the fuse panel had a burnt smell I removed and disassembled the fuse panel and found a little corrosion on the printed circuit board.  I ordered a new fuse panel from Amazon for like $260. When it arrived I installed it, and put everything back together, the problem was fixed. I figured the fuse panel needed to be replaced anyway so that was a logical place to start. Hopefully this story helps someone in the future. Regretfully I didn’t scan for codes before I did everything.
    • That stinks. I’m sitting on the side of the road right now with the same issue. Never had an issue before taking it in for the ground strap recall. Now I’m outside of warranty and they’ll probably want $200 just to diagnose what they already “fixed”.
