Underdrive Pulley?

i have the v6 in my 07 classic and was wondering what an underdrive pulley is and if it would give me any kind of power upgrade or anything.

NOPE!

It might create a wee bit of more power but the amount would be tiny and not felt. (you might THINK it's faster) Many have run into issues with AC not cooling as well and alternator not keeping up with charging due to the slower speed.

In a truck application, I would agree that the difference probably wouldn't be worth it. They do make a difference on some vehicles though for sure. As far as charging system issues there are some kits out there with an "alternator overdrive" pulley to match the crank UD -- counteracting the UD's effect on the charging system specifically.

I've heard that the 5.0 Mustang guys get a lot out of underdriving the accessories, but I haven't seen it for myself. I've seen a few magazine tests that showed no difference on a dyno. That might be different when the AC was running... don't know.
