has anyone used the summit brand cat back systems before? there a little over $200 and was wondering how they are compared to the name brand systems that sell for $350. plus.

I purchased one a couple of years ago. They use the muffler from IMCO all the piping was mandrel bent but did not have a crome tip. For the money I could not complain. The muffler is a turbo muffler and a little on the quiet side.

You get what you pay for. 250 cheap I would not expect it to last long. It might rest. And drone, it's might have a Lot.

The Summit had less drone than the flowmaster that I have now.. do you have any idea what you are talking about? Have you ever owned one?

Nope never owned a summit kit. I have owned flowmaster befor, they Rust easy, then there's a leak and sounds like shit, the drone in most flowmaster, is bad it gives me a headache. I would have guessed that summit uses a flowmaster knock off. This is my option, if you dont want to take my option then don't. I don't care I'm just trying to help you, that's what this site is for to help others that need it.

Buddy of mine has one for one year and the clamps that come with the kit are rusting already and it was overpriced and loud. If you are looking for loud and a different style get that if not I would buy a muffler and have the exhaust shop get a hot rod kit that is already mandrel bent and have them weld up a system for ya. That's just my opinion.

see the problem is that you ar giving a comment on a part that you have never owned. The op asked for opinion from people who purchased a Summit kit. You have not owned a kit from them then you bash the product saying you get what you pay for and it will rust. Good Awnser!!!

Has anyone heard the Gibson extreme exhaust, I'm thinking about buying one.

I purchased the Gibson Duals and had them on my truck 3 years ago. I really liked the sound from Gibson but the fit of the pipes was a little off I had to had to weld it up to make good connections with the piping . Over all I prefer the Gibson over the Summit kit if I have the extra cash to spend if not the Summit kit will do its job. It will be had to beat the Summit kit for the money unless you buy a Muffler and weld it up your self with the factory piping. What ever you do dont let a muffler shop install crush bent pipes . Always ask if the have a mandrel machine if not go to another shop.

I had a summit dual exhaust system on a dodge a couple years back and it sounded pretty much like the stock muffler so dad gutted the muffler and put bigger tips on and it sounded awesome... but I really wouldn't suggest one if you're looking for something loud.
