5.7 Belt Tensioner Question

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone. The belt tensioner on my 350 has been getting very noisy lately. I'm referring to the small pulley with the wheel on one end that sits below the alternator and next to the water pump on the 350.

Does anyone know where I could find a replacement and how big a job is it to change that thing out?

Also, on a side note, how common is it for the tranny cooling lines to leak coolant up front near the engine? I think one or two of mine might be leaking.

Allright, thanks guys! Hope to get some answers!

Autozone or advance have the assembly for about 30 dollars. I believe it is a 13mm bolt. The bolt that goes through the center of it. Remove belt and R&R the assembly. If you are leaking coolant out of the radiator where the tranny lines are connected then it is new radiator time.

Is that a common problem? I really can't trace the leak, but it is leaking (dripping on the ground, not just disappearing).

Also, thanks for the tensioner info.
