pennzoil29 Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 Hopefully, I will stop today. It'll be hard, but I can't wait to hand my grandson the carton of cigarette's I just bought this morning, and tell him to destroy them. The look on his face will be priceless. I better have the camera ready for that. He get's home from school at 4:00. The way I figure it, if I can quit, I'll be saving around $250. a month.

On top of the health probs the cost is staggering.I'm gonna go to the market and maybe get some the gum for quitting.Maybe when I feel like a smoke I'll pop in a stick of gum. Three cheers for us,Jeff
geektoad Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 I'm in. Though, i'm going to go a different route. I have a prescription for Chantix i'm going to fill this afternoon...my quit date will be a week from today. I'll do my damnedest to cutback in the interim
pennzoil29 Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 Good luck guys! Thank's Jeff, I'll need it. I've failed miserably at this before. I stated before that I'd let my grandson destroy the carton I just purchased. A friend of mine just called me and asked if I could loan him some money for, you guessed it. I'll give him all but 2 pack's out of that carton, a long with a sermon, if I can do it, so can you.
BuckFeverZ Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 I have about 1/4 tin left. Once that is gone, I'll join in the quitting efforts. I think having this thread near the top each day will help out
Nick The Great Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 There's an ad on the radio stations around here for a Hypnotist that'll help ya quit. Seriously though, Good luck with that. Your health and wallet will thank you
VMax2007 Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 Just think of all the new truck mods you will now be able to afford. Hell Jeff, you could probably buy yourself a new truck now.
pennzoil29 Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 Just think of all the new truck mods you will now be able to afford. Hell Jeff, you could probably buy yourself a new truck now. I just pm'd Gary. I told him that I have a good feeling about being able to pull this off. I'm starting to really get pumped up about quitting. I think I broke down when you said "PLEASE".
SoCalChris Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 Great for you guys. I lost all four of my grandparents to cancer directly caused by tobacco. Three of them died before I was born, and the one that I did get to meet died when I was pretty young. My only memories of her are her going through chemo treatment, and suffering from emphysema.
seasu Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 I'm up for a go... I'm going to wait till friday after work for zero hour though. I did do the chantix route earlier this summer and it did work while I was on the meds. I had some issues when the meds stopped, so if anyone is doing that I would suggest bringing up the topic of antidepressants with their doctor when they are going to get off of them. I did manage to be smokeless for 2 months though!!
