Finally Lifted My Truck (pics)

Well I finally got around to lifting my truck after about a year of wanting to do it. I installed the new 6" NTD suspension lift kit from rough country and bought some moto metal 950's (18x9) and 35x13.50 pro comp xterrians. Originally I came in asking about leveling kits and body lifts but decided spending the extra money is definitely worth it. I bought the wheels and tires used though and saved a lot of money that way. The truck is dirty but you get the idea! I will post some clean pictures in a bit.

Awesome truck man! I had planned to install a Truxxx 3" leveling kit in the spring but now I'm re-thinking it. I really love the stance of your truck. How the ride quality?

If I was you i would just go ahead and get a suspension lift. Its worth the extra $ in my opinion. I was in the same shoes you were about a year ago. I really like the ride of the rough country lift, just make sure you dont get the cheap one. The ride feels pretty much stock to me. If you like the stance of mine make sure you get the right offset

Thanks Matt! Now I'm definitely confused that's for sure. The price difference is alot, i'll most likely need to wait while, family stuff takes precedence over my truck mods unfortunately. I spent sometime today reading through the 3" body lift installation instructions on Performance Accessories's website. I figured this might be a good alternative for me (since I don't wheel my truck). I don't like that fact that I need to hack up parts of my truck though. Besides I have the towing package and the hitch sitting 3" lower than my rear bumper with a make shift plate holding them together looks like crap to me. So that's out for sure. So here I am with a brand new Truxxx leveling kit sitting in my office that my wife ordered for me for Xmas, and I'm not sure I want to install it. If you don't mind me asking, what did the lift install set you back. I do all my own work on my truck but I don't feel confident doing a suspension lift on my own, so I have to throw the installation into budget too.

well i went to a local 4x4 parts store and bought the kit from them. It sells for 1200 on the internet but they sold it to me for 940 plus $100 shipping. Basically 100 bucks over their invoice. They also charged me 70 bucks an hour for 12 hours of labor. So roughly 2000 for the full installation of the lift kit. You can find cheaper places but this shop was right down the street from my house. It seems like your pretty mechanically inclined though you must want to try installing the lift kit yourself and save about 1000 bucks. You can always go in and haggle with them about the labor costs though just make sure you pay them cash! But i also don't think the truxxx kit would look bad-- you could fit a nice pair of 33's but then again you might always be wishing you had done a full suspension lift kit. Not to mention you really get that beefy look from the suspension lifts. I do reccomend the rough country kit though its the best kit for your dollar IMO. Also if you dont mind used sometimes you can find some nice lift kits on craigslist. But your right the price difference is huge i will be paying off my credit card for the next few months thats for sure! :P
