Question about tires

Hey guys,

I have a 03 1/2 ton 2wd ext cab short bed and I was wondering what the biggest tire I could run would be. I have 2" coil spacers up front and I heard you can run 265/75r16s on a stock 2wd with no rubbing, so I was thinking I should just stick to those. Any advice would be much appreciated.

I am not sure what will fit, but will give you some dim's just in case you don't hav'em:

-----------------Width-----Overall Height (in inches)

255/70/16*-----10.04-----30.06

265/75/16-------10.43-----31.65

285/75/16-------11.22-----32.83

305/70/16-------12.01-----32.81

*this is what came stock on my '02 ext cab sb 2WD

Soooo:

I would throw out the 305/70 as I *think* it might be too wide for the rim and would cause some extreme uneven wear (on a stock rim, that is).

That said, I might try the 285/75. With your spacers it would be close, but hey, nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Of course your speedo with the 285's would probably be 'bout 4 mph's off.

Have fun.
