Free And Easy Way To Resize And Crop Images

I tried this and it works just fine for sig pic purposes. You won't be able to get too flashy but it's free and easy.

Tips:

1. Opening - File>Open

-1a. Select the local file using the "Browse" button. Do not change any settings.

-1b. Click "Upload".

2. Resizing - Clicking the little box with the four green arrows in it allows resizing of the image.

-2a. Leave the "Aspect Ratio" check box checked when resizing using the Height and Width boxes. When you change one, clicking on the other field will change that one automatically.

-2b. Click apply to apply the changes.

Note: Anything bigger than 400 or so pixels wide is probably overkill and bad for the Dial-Up Gang.

3. Cropping - Clicking the scissors image allows for cropping the image.

-3a. Drag the red lines on the box, do not worry about the numbers in the entry fields above the image.

-3b. Click apply to apply the changes.

4. Saving - File>Save

-4a. You may save directly to your computer and then upload the new image to your preferred hosting site.

-4b. You may also save your image automatically to imageshack.us and copy/paste the provided link from the application into your signature.

5. Screwing Up

-5a. Undo, undo, undo.

Hope this is helpful.

especially those of us that dont want to open windows unless we have to.....

+1

I recently converted my parents from a PC to a Mac. My mom is now able to use her computer. "It's amazing!" she says to me, "It just kind of makes sense."

Not that Mac is the only good alternative, Linux is great too.

NP. I am running parallels with XP Pro. Do you like Fusion? Have you used Paralles?

no, never tried parallels, so I cannot say, the way I understood it is VMware Fusion loves anything over 4GB of ram on a mac, whereas parallels may have a problem, I currently have 8GB onboard and windows says that it detects 4GB of memory, which probably means that half is for Leopard and half is for VMware Fusion. How is parallels working for you, and have you tried Boot Camp?

Hey man, I used to be the same way until I had enough to pull down a mac, then I found out that I could run windows too, that was what sealed the deal for me.......darn, I am getting a windows error, will have to "reboot" windows...be right back......

I wish I had some money to drop into a Comptuer I'm a PC man all day long but I'm not against giving a Mac a whirl.

There is no longer a difference between a mac and pc besides that picture of the apple on the side and the price you pay for it. You can go buy a $150 hard drive or wipe the one you have and get leapord or whatever operating system you want on it.
