He must have done a really shitty job welding it. If it would have been done with a substantial enough weld there is no way he would have blown out the clutch or torn up the drive line. What a dumbass.

LOL When I belonged to the Jeep club, I welded the spiders in my Dana 44, it worked great! I trailered it everywhere anyway.

 

I eventually got beefy axles, and lower gears, but I still went back with a spool because it was cheap :thumbs:

 

I never did break my "Lincoln Locker"

Welding the ring and pinion must be stronger than welding the spider gears! LOL! :thumbs:

i'm still working my way through the thread, but this is one of my favorite replies:

 

Since its a Toyota , You shouldve welded it with metric 7018. Ya gotta watch those welding supply places, they will sell you the wrong stuff.......
