Good Deal?

Hey guys, I'm kinda looking for a diesel. Currently I have an 08 NBS 2500 CC with a 6.0. I more or less special ordered the truck new. I wanted leather with the LT style dash (love the dual glove boxes!). My truck has a Bose stereo as well as a few more options. I "like" the truck but don't absolutely "love" it. I've owned it for about a year and a half. I'm kinda parcial to the old body style and have found an 07 OBS 2500 CC with a DMax. Loaded to the hills. I'm talkin LT3 leather, Bose, rear DVD, sunroof and all! The price they are asking is 28,900, but the truck has 78,500 miles. Just wonderin what you guys thought i could get for trade in vs the price of the 07 and if i'd be worth lookin into. I owe a little less than trade in value on my truck according to NADA. Any help or advise is very much appreciated!! Thanks!

I used to have a CUmmins for pulling our 5th wheel and totally hated the truck.....lots of maintenance, smell, noise, etc., etc. SO , I bought my 6.0 gas and gave up a lot of pulling power and mileage but I like it. Some folks love and need a diesel, but if you never owned one, you may not be as happy with it as you might think.....

Having said that, I was looking at trading my 6.0L HD for a 1500, since I don't tow any more....our RV is permanently parked and the HD is overkill as a daily driver....

My 07 is totally flawless, no scratches or dings and only 22,000 miles....I went to two Chevy dealers and yes, even a Ford dealer....the best I could get for mine in trade was $19,600 on a $30K truck.....one guy wanted to sell me a nice 06 Super Crew 1/2 ton and wanted my truck and $6K.....he swore I could get 17 mpg. I told him I can buy a hellofalot of gas for $6k....

Suddenly, I really "love" my truck a lot more....rides a little rough but that's ok....ha

Bottom line is try to make the best deal you can....once you have the numbers, then you can make a decision...be assured going into the deal, it will cost you some $$$$....even though sales are down, the dealers seem to be pretty unwilling to negotiate a whole lot.

On the other hand, if you can sell your truck and go without a trade, they tend to deal better....my son bought an 04 HD 4x4 8.1 L for almost $6k under what the dealer was asking....took three days of negotiation and no trade to get that price....so, if you could sell your truck outright it puts you in a better position....good luck
