Steering Freezes Up After Being Parked For A Few Hours

I have a 2001 GMC Extended cab 4X4. When I leave the truck parked for a few hours the steering freezes. It feels like a bearing or joint freezes and it takes a little effort to break it free. Once broken free the truck operates fine until the next time I park. Started off as an occasional problem but now is every time I park overnight and the amount of effort to break free is increasing. I had the steering fluid drained and changed but had no effect.

Welcome to the site.

Sounds like you have a spool valve sticking in your steering box. Get it to a shop to check ball joints and tie rod ends though, just in case something is wrong up there.
