sgiangregorio Posted August 26, 2004 Posted August 26, 2004 Does anyone have instructions for how to remove the panels on a 2003 Envoy XL? I saw the two screws in the handle area, but after taking those off, something was still holding it tight. The dealer fixed a problem on the door, but it seems when he put it back together he didn't "hook" the upper part, so it's a sitting a bit away from the door itself. I figured it's just easier for me to fix it then to bring it back. thanks
Envoy Fan Posted August 26, 2004 Posted August 26, 2004 Yeah, they got to get the top right or it won't fit up against the glass like it is supposed to. There is also about 9 "clips" on the perimeter of the door panel that hold the panel to the door. Once you remove the two screws you will have to put something slim between the door and panel to get the panel free of the door. When I had mine off I used an old kitchen knife with the dull side going between the door and panel. You just gently pry. It should be pretty easy since it is not on correctly now.
sgiangregorio Posted August 28, 2004 Author Posted August 28, 2004 Thanks. So it doesn't just easily lift off like my Tahoe panels? Are these the "push" clips that are ribbed, the ones that usually break when you take em off?
Envoy Fan Posted August 28, 2004 Posted August 28, 2004 Haven't had the Tahoe panels off yet, so don't know if they are same or not. These fasteners don't seem prone to breakage, as I had all my door panels off and no breakage problems. I just took it slow and easy.
sgiangregorio Posted August 28, 2004 Author Posted August 28, 2004 Thanks. So just pull the panel straight out from the door itself? What about the window control and stuff like that? thanks

What about the window control and stuff like that? thanks Yes, just pull the panel straight out. I just used the dull edge of the knife to pry the window control button up and off. I don't think you even have to do anything with the window control because you just want to realign the panel, not completely take it off.
