Wow thats really good. But how fast was the Nissan GT-R? Also that list seems a bit old becuase there seems to be no Corvette Z06 and there is no 7:59 for the new CTS-V.

Oh wait it did beat the Nissan GT-R, by almost 3 seconds!! Then that makes the Corvette have the fastest lap time for a production sports car.

those new GT-R's are crazy fast. Seen one run a 11.3 stock with ease. The Z06 has got it's work cut out now.

The GT-R has very low gearing which gives it the boost it needs down low. However, it starts losing on the highend 110+ mph where the vette starts going nascar on it's ass.

I just read that wikipedia entry and read the track notes for the ZR-1, interesting: Strong headwind on main straight. electronically timed and confirmed with two hand-held stopwatches.
