  8. RAP aka Retained Accessory Power - powers on when the key is rotated to the first position and remains on until the ignition is turned completely off and the driver's door is opened (just like the factory radio) If you look under the driver's side dash, between the brake pedal and parking brake, you'll see the fuse/relay box (it's about 6" x 10" and has a smooth black plastic cover, just like on the GMT-900's). Pry the clasps on each side to remove. On my SLT there are three main banks, left to right, with the first being unoccupied (see attached pic). The slots within first bank are labeled 1-20, though only 11 actually have male connectors. I used my tester to determine the following: # 7 & 17 are constant 12v power [always on] # 10 & 11 are grounds #8 is the RAP [retained accessory power] ignition signal wire

  9. When the Spring 2014 edition of GMC The Magazine showed up on our desks a few weeks ago we didn't expect to find someone from GM-Trucks.com mentioned inside. However, right at the top of page 23 in the "Talking about GMC" section, we found this gem from forum member Lee Downey. This isn't the first time GMC The Magazine has been generous enough to mention one of us and we hope it isn't the last. So, we wanted to make sure the editors over at the magazine know how appreciative we are. Hey, Editors of GMC The Magazine: Thank-you! 11. It is pretty easy if you have a little patience. if you don't mind paying someone and they can warranty the works. I'd say go for it... As for me, I'm just trying to help and you don't have to go with me" just do a little searching and I'm sure you can find a shop that can do it for your piece of mind.. I did about 10 set of headlights so far. 6 of them are my own vehicle and 4 of them are friends... Been well over 5 years and none of them have problems or moisture issue.. Like I said, if you take a little time and patience. You can do it just fine... ;) Here is my 350z with Iron man mod and STI clear lenses on Stock HID projector Have more of other Vehicles, but I can't find the pics right now..

  15. Some of us will not " try to do a project no matter what the difficultly it presents, and there r others who will do it and give it there best shot. and hope for the best outcome no matter what the project is" As we can see, we know who those are.The headlights are not a inexpensive item, but make a CHOICE, $560 for a pair of anzo headlights...probably better than oem, but not as good as FXRs...right on Ben!

  16. The fix is in place guys, I have been testing it for almost 2 weeks now. Reception is almost perfect now and the HD switching has stopped. I will email the engineers tomorrow and see if the repair has been released into the dealer system.

  17. Did you use the dealer locator on TRS? No disrespect to Ben, as his is a generous offer. But I'd pick the most respected installer and ship them 2 day air to wherever they are. Unfortunately, many so-called professionals are part time home garage mechanics in this business, probably due to the fact that the volume of retrofits is just not consistent. Find a real business that guarantees their work. Some of the disclaimers I read on "professional" retrofitter sites would deter me from having them wash my truck, let alone hack into $1200 worth of my headlights. Basically, some of them take no responsibility whatsoever for anything. Find a well respected one and use your credit card to pay so you have some recourse for dispute resolution.

  19. Yes, will fit with no problem. I'm likely gonna add an armored cable and lock as added security given the cost of the 5th wheel and tire (don't ask!)

  25. Installed the Airaid CAI today. It only took about an hour from hood open to washing hands. I needed to be fast to beat the Florida heat and thunderstorms. My initial impressions... very nice. I sense that the vehicle is more responsive, the Borla exhaust even sounds louder. I am sure some of this is a placebo and some of it is from resetting the computer, but some of it really is the CAI! The truck is more "pouty" almost angry now unless I keep my foot in it... not going to be good for gas mileage or my wallet if my radar detector fails to alert me to our local peace officers. Will be working on my BB tune to dial this thing in but so far I am beyond satisfied with the results.

  27. Dropping the Sierra off Wednesday morning for a RCX 4 & 3/4 combo lift with basically same wheels as baggedlvintegra, Moto Metal 970's 20x10 with - 24 offset, but went with the 305/55R20 Toyo Open Country AT II's Extreme for the shoes. Installer is skeptic he won't have to trim all night long so I'm hoping I have the same luck as this guy! Wish me well as my baby goes in for the operation. I'll post pics and results asap.

  28. I know this is an old topic but I've been out for a while. I can verify that the turn signals and heat work but the wiring for the puddles and auto dim are part of the harness that controls the power fold. If done correctly your looking at a LOT of money. You have to have the two DL3 mirrors (price varies), two different wiring harnesses about 125+ each, door switches both driver and passenger side (price varies) depending if new or used so add 200-400.00 , a VIN# from a donor vehicle that had DL3 options and then GM has to program them another 150.00 You can hardwire the puddles from under the dash but I really don't care about them myself. If your truck had DL8 mirrors the DL3 turn signals will work as will the TOW mirrors as I have both on different trucks. A friend of mine and myself are working on a KIT that will allow you to do this without tapping into the BCM wiring. Once we get it all set up I will let you know and post up a HOW-TO. My 2¢ worth about puddle lights. What purpose do they really serve? They look cool? Once you open the door the light moves away from the entry point.

  34. PLWTWO, the reason you'd need new control arms is because if you press the stock bushings out you won't be able to press the cam bushings in that come with the drop kit. Aluminum makes it a one time press fit and therefore non serviceable for bushing replacement. Which ordinarily wouldn't be a big deal since they are non serviceable ball joints anyway.

  35. I was going to get a Corsa System but I think I'm going to save that money until I figure out how I'm going to build the truck. For now, I'm going to go get a flow master muffler with custom tail pipe. I will give feedback when I do. I should have it on by this weekend. I know that Flowmaster gets a bad name because of drone, but that's because everybody puts 40 series mufflers on. If you watch the video of my 96 Impala below, I think you will see why I'm partial. These are 50 series Delta Flows, 3" from headers to tailpipe with an X-Pipe just after the headers. 0-Drone... I mean NONE-NADA! The car is no slouch... Listen & Enjoy Steve P.S. - Don't hate on my Helmet, I raced Motocross all my life and that's how I roll, LOL Heres another one

  36. Oh GAWD.... that's why everybody has drone because we all use 40 series flowmasters. How can you deny this sound- 50 series Delta Flow's. Here is my impala, 3" duals dumped just behind rear tires, long tube headers, no cats, 0 Drone and the car runs a 10.90's on a good day weighing in at 4400 lbs. The video is bad, but you can hear it. Enjoy! Steve Oh yeah... it has made 2 full HotRod Power Tours also.
