  1. I say this in all the oil threads. Use dexos . Use whatever you like. This year I like Royal Purple. Change it early. 3500 miles is my OCI on all my trucks. BTW where's Grumpy? He knows.

  4. I’ve been using Pennzoil for 20+ years in 10+ cars and trucks from a ‘94 350 small block w/ 150k mi to a turbocharged 2.0L and none of them ever had to have oil added between oil changes. The ‘07+ 5.3 were notorious for using oil but my ‘08 never lost a bit up until 95k mi when I traded it. I ran conventional oil until around 2010 when I switched to Pennzoil Platinum.

  6. Went from 265/65/18 Goodyear Fortitude HTs to 275/65/18 Nitto Ridge Grapplers. Also added Bedrug bed mat, GMC cargo net & (can't see them) bed tie downs.

  7. I use to love and modified diesels. My nephew had an 11 second daily driver that was profiled in a magazine in the 2000s. We started putting banks kits with my dads 88 ford 7.3. And did several through the years. My mother still drives an 01 7.3 1 ton at 83. My dad 98 Ram diesel still looks new. Changing the fuel and adding pollution devices killed the mileage and longevity of diesels. All the fleet buyers I know are switching to gas for their fleet buys. They run spread sheets there’re not cost effective anymore. Personal preference is what it is and your choice obviously. You may want to check out the four cylinder. I’m hearing good things. Longevity it’s a little soon to tell. I’d buy extended warranty anyway.

  10. Fair enough, but leather seats and sunroof aren't "cost effective" either right? I know there is slim chance of breaking even with diesel prices in my area, but some things are nice to have even though the math doesn't work. I like the way they drive, the torque down low and "always on". It suits my lazy driving style. But yeah, trading in a perfectly good truck for a diesel just to try and save money, that's never going to work out.

  11. Its not cost effective enough. Every one I talked to has problems with the pollution devices at around 100k miles

  12. Genuinely curious, why not a diesel? The 2nd gen eco diesel has a poor reputation so I wouldn't get that, and the Ford diesel is kind of sad, but I've been reading good things about the 3.0 Duramax. Basically if I cracked up my truck and needed to replace it, the 3.0 is at the top of my list when combined with the updated interior. They make a lot of sense to me and my driving style, which is quite laid back (so I don't need the performance of a v8 though my truck does make me smile from time to time lol) with lots of highway and rural driving and a good amount of towing thrown in.

  17. This oil was mentioned on another forum. I thought I would post it for the oil guys. I never heard of it. https://www.ravenolamerica.com/categories/motor-oil.html Looks like they make oil from various base stock.

  19. The one you list is perfectly fine. The "mighty 6.2" isn't anything that several top name oils can't handle

  23. 12/03/2021 Haven't posted a 'fresh' photo in awhile. So I gave her a bath and snapped this in the parking lot. Yea, that's a scuff in the front bumper. Yes this is her worst side. Local car wash has been bough out and the new owner has done some major repairs and upgrades. Did a nice job me thinks. In a few months she's 7 years old. Think I'll keep her

  24. There's just no station that plays western trail songs out there, even on XM. Marty Robbins, Gary Prescott, Kyle Evans, Red Stegal, etc. It's a music genre that is relatively very small. So, I either play CDs or now, I can play a SD card. Finally, a solid state memory player from the OEM in a 4x4 vehicle. About time.
