  1. 2021 2wd reg cab dually payload: gasser 7442 lb diesel 6523 lb 2021 2wd crew dually payload gas 6894 lb diesel 5894 lb for both: GVWR 14000 lb RGAWR 10500 lb 4wd payloads a little less, GVWR and RGAWR are the same, so weight of transfer case, front diff, front drive shaft and half shafts all reduce available payload.
  2. Range is just a guess on how you might drive in the future... Several ways to estimate range, just as accurately as the estimate from the computer Just like we did before there were 'guess-o-meters' for range. We might even do it better, if we know that we are going to getting better/worse fuel economy due change in the grades/speeds/loads/etc.
  3. There will be diagnostic information available to the dealers technician to test that the sender in the tank and the gauge in the dash. You shouldn't have to tell them anything other than the symptoms.
  4. Custom TrailBoss also has the AFM as an option, and not the DFM The trims that have the AFM (L82) as an option, cannot get the L84 (DFM) engine. Custom TrailBoss can get the 6.2L. The other 3 (Base Sierra, WT, and Custom) cannot get the 6.2L
  5. Seems that some trucks with the clamp issue also develop a fault code. In any case, I believe these pics are the clamp and sensor in question. There is a smoke test they can do to determine if that is the source of the leak. https://gm-techlink.com/?p=1378 Particulate Matter Sensor Protection Tube Performance Diagnostic Setting False DTC October 13, 2020 The particulate matter sensor protection tube performance diagnostic may set a false DTC P1488 (Particulate Matter Sensor Temperature Circuit High Voltage) on some 2020 Silverado and Sierra trucks equipped with the 3.0L Duramax diesel engine (RPO LM2). The Check Engine MIL also may be illuminated. If the vehicle has DTC P1488 set, check if the particulate matter sensor is loose in the exhaust pipe. If the particulate matter sensor is loose, follow the diagnostics in the appropropriate Service Information. If the particulate matter sensor is properly torqued and DTC P1488 is set, test the exhaust for leaks using the GE-52250 Power Smoke Diagnostic Leak Detector. Since the sealing bladder cannot be installed in the tailpipe upstream of the exhaust cooler, it’s recommended to use duct tape to seal the cooler. Repair any leaks as needed and replace the particulate matter sensor. If the joint shown is leaking (Fig. 23), the clamp may have bottomed out before sufficient clamp load was applied to the joint. (Fig. 24) The clamp should be replaced if this condition exists. Fig. 23 Fig. 24 Refer to #PIP5748A for additional information.
  6. Any chance it's just worn out shocks?
  7. Everyone notices it. Standing water has that effect on every vehicle. The deeper the water and the faster the vehicle enters it, the more it drags. Ignoring that effect causes lots of accidents and/or damage. Avoiding standing water is best. If it must be travelled thru, slower is better.
  8. Not sure if this is the latest and greatest but: Code Engine Plant ............ Code Engine Plant F Flint (Motor) ......................... S Saginaw Service H Hydramatic .......................... T Tonawanda K St. Catherines, Ontario ........ V Flint (Engine) (McKinnon Industries Canada) M GM of Mexico
  9. One other difference. Texas Edition is only available to order by Dealers located in the states of Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas. Not available with (PDU) All Star Edition or (ZW9) pickup bed delete.
  10. If temps are regularly in the -35C range I'm a little surprised there aren't plug-in's available. GM has suggested the 3.0L doesn't really require plug-in until the -25C(-13F) range.
  11. I have used both bakflip for 3 years (15/16/17) and retrax MX for 3 years (18/18/20) in a snow/ice area. Both have pluses and minuses. Neither was opened every day. Both always lived outside. Both were the 6.5 ft bed size. Both at times had lots of ice/snow frozen to top requiring removal to open. Tailgate needs to be open to unlatch bakflip for opening, retrax does not. Bakflip also requires cover/tailgate to be closed in specific order. If bakflip is closed it is locked. Retrax is locked with a key. OTOH, it can be locked in any position. GM has changed the dimensions of the 'standard' bed -- so new cover required. It's another retrax
  12. I suspect the calibration has been updated, so most of this won't apply, but read the last paragraph. Might make you feel better. What part of omtario ?
  13. Holy crap. Have they done away with the vents under the driver/passenger seats? (I guess I could look at mine, but I haven't yet) What do you keep in the cross bed toolbox?
  14. Back to the way it was for many years. GM outsells Ford. Ford outsells Ram. But yes, Ram is doing a lot better than they used to. Competition is a great thing.
  15. Obviously, the tax thing depends where you live. Here, the income tax side doesn't enter into it buying and selling personal vehicles. But 'here', the sales tax side is a BIG deal. (the call it a goods and services tax) This tax is 13% of the 'difference' in the deal. (Selling price of new one - value for trade in = difference;, then difference + 13% tax is the amount to be paid by cash/loan/lease/whatever) This means that if the old vehicle is sold privately it is necessary to get 13% more than the trade-in offer in order to break even. Example: Trade in and get $40k for a trade in. To break even in a private sale it would be necessary to get $40,000 x 1.13, or $45,200 from the private buyer. Is it possible to get more privately -- well yes. Will you be money ahead if in an area that has sales tax on the difference? That's not clear. Do the dealers know this an squeeze you on the value offered -- well, yes to that one too. The buyer in a private deal will have to pay the tax at the licensing office in order to get plates for it. They now charge the tax based on their values for the model/year. Makes it so seller and buyer can't have a 'low' invoice to reduce the tax amount. Best to understand the tax implications --- in the area where the deal will be taxed and licensed.
  16. Pic of what's included: https://www.chevrolet.com/performance-parts/vehicle-upgrades/new-silverado/suspension Introducing the only 2-inch Suspension Lift designed, engineered, tested, and backed† by Chevrolet specifically for the All-New 2019 Silverado. Developed by the same vehicle-level engineers who built the truck, the system was tested under the same grueling conditions and will not void the New-Vehicle Limited Warranty.† With separate systems for select 2WD and 4WD All-New 2019 Silverado models, each system features front and rear passive monotube dampers specifically tuned to the chassis, jounce bumpers, rear leaf spring spacers, and much more for fully integrated installation. A front camera reconfiguration† and an Electronic Power Steering calibration† is included so that all driver-assist systems continue to function seamlessly. Read the vehicle Owner’s Manual for important driver-assist system feature limitations and information. Expert installation by an authorized GM dealer is recommended.† PART NO. 84629787 /2-inch Suspension Lift – 4WD PART NO. 84629789 /2-inch Suspension Lift – 2WD
  17. FWIW, mines a 21 and it's a GMC and it's a half ton. I does have buttons on all 4 doors. Because of this thread I tried the double push on the button on the drivers door -- and it unlocked all four buttons, same as using a double push of the FOB unlock button. This info is useful to for me, as sometimes when with someone else it was a nuisance to hunt for the unlock button on the door so the person on the other side could get access. (I guess the FOB unlock double press also an option, but kinda defeats the whole fob in pocket thing) I did check the settings in the vehicle section of personalization menus and found that Passive Door Unlock' is set to 'driver door only' (I guess that means for the first press?) Options are Off, All Doors, Driver Door Only. I guess it could be set to All Doors so only one push needed.
  18. Order guides for 20 and 21 2500 show that for 21 2500 halogena standard on LT, LED optional as below: Headlamps, LED reflector (high intensity) with LED signature curtain Daytime Running Lamps 1 - Included and only available with (WJP) Midnight Edition, (WEA) Z71 Sport Edition, (WBL) Z71 Chrome Sport Edition. As Rozz552 suggested, for 2020 2500 -- LED's not available on LT (they were standard on LTZ and HC, not available on other trims)
  19. Step one. Reduce the lighting inside so that 'night vision' is improved. (makes headlights seem to work better too...)
  20. Can't help with part numbers, but here's the RPO codes: VXW NEW! LPO, AT4 high clearance step, (dealer-installed) 1 - Included in (PDG) AT4 premium package. Not available with any other RPO or LPO assist step. Regular one for AT4 S6L LPO, Sport Step, Black, (dealer-installed) 1 - Not available with any other RPO or LPO assist step.
  21. I'll supply the 'old guy' comment. At a 150 mile commute I'd be more concerned about cost per mile than looking cool. Might even be worth it to look at a commuter vehicle and 'save' the truck. It was a bunch of years ago, but for a period of time I did the 2 vehicle thing for that reason.
  22. This generation, the tow mirrors definitely create a bigger blind spot than the K2's or 900's did. Especially the passenger side. I prefer to have tow mirrors anyway.
  23. Curt makes a kit to detect if ball mount inserted and then disable multipro. I've bashed knees/shins on ball mounts often enough that part of unhooking a trailer is removing the ball mount as well.
