Splash guards and the 6" wide flat step boards are your friend.

I've only got about 1800 miles on mine. It is a sierra - they have slightly lower epa rating than the chev, it is 4wd - they have slightly lower rating than the 2wd. It is the season we get a winter fuel blend in this area, which brings slightly lower mpg than summer fuel. It's never got numbers as low as you are talking. I don't think the shortest of the 3 average screens has ever got below 20. Tank averages so far have been 24.5 +/- a few points. Most frequent running speed has been in the 55 - 60 mph range which usually gives 25 -27 mpg averages on the lowest mile DIC 'average' screen. Certainly sounds like your truck isn't performing as it should and needs some attention. I'd get it checked out.

Both 2500 and 3500 are considered to be HD's. (as opposed to 1500's which use lighter frames/axles/suspensions/brakes/powertrain etc. All 2019 2500's have the L5P 6.6L diesel or the LC8 6.0L gas...so... Anyway, the reason it's listed as 2015 to 2019 is they have the same body style, even though there were engine/hood changes. Maybe someone else has splash guard installation info.

My 'metric' T1 truck uses set to metric shows 50km/100km/650km When set to 'inch' units, it shows 31mi/62mi/404mi iirc, the other GMC 'metric' vehicle in the driveway doesn't use these 'hard conversion' numbers.

For both 2020 and 2021, only the WT has E85 as an option -- (order code is FHS, it is not standard) even though L82 is used on WT, Custom and Custom TB, it's only shown as available on the WT. On Sierra, the L82 is only used on the base Sierra. FHS is an also an option on it. They call it E85 capable. Don't know it that means that FHS still uses the alcohol sensor and higher HP tuning, or if it just means it will run ok on E85.

It is base on the actual averages the truck has been seeing/recording (not what GM or EPA thinks it should get), so if at time of delivery/first fill the mpg's recorded so far were crappy then it wouldn't give a very high estimate. I'd expect that when you fill it the estimated range will reflect the actual mileage you've been getting....900km/tank, or somewhere in that range.

My 3.0 doesn't produce the noises you are describing, which suggests tires rather than powertrain/driveline. It would be interesting to know for sure. Maybe the dealer has a factory 'take-off' wheel package that could be tried for comparison purposes?

When you get it configured they way that makes you happy, also price it the next trim level higher. Eventually you 'wants' list will probably get to a point where it is cheaper to move up to the next trim level. Or the same price, but higher trim will add stuff you didn't want, for no extra money.

That's contrary to the OM instructions.... Pull and hold to brighten the display. Press and hold to dim the display. Continue to hold to turn the display off. The HUD image will automatically dim and brighten to compensate for outside lighting. Use +/- to adjust as needed. The HUD image can temporarily light up depending on the angle and position of sunlight on the HUD display. This is normal. Polarized sunglasses could make the HUD image harder to see.

Not sure I understand what's wrong with that, or what you're thinking it should be. What's the fuel gauge saying? What do you think the range should be saying? It's trying to estimate how much further you can go with the remaining fuel -- so is assuming that fuel consumption will remain similar. If you've gone 800 km and it says 160 km remaining, then if you fill it it the the range screen should change to predict 950 - 1000 km remaining.

It takes seconds to walk around a 4 tire truck with the 'learn tool' to re-teach the sensor positions after tire rotation. I can't imagine whey it would be a 2 hour procedure on a dually. Maybe they misunderstood the request?

There won't be a vin until there is a truck to stick it on.... Should be able to get the order number from dealer and then get event code information - and if it's moved far enough thru the system, there may be a TPW (tentative production week). When it has a VIN, it's moving down the line.

From Owners Manual (2020 sierra, but others likely the same/similar) : Driving in Water Warning Driving through rushing water can be dangerous. Deep water can sweep your vehicle downstream and you and your passengers could drown. If it is only shallow water, it can still wash away the ground from under your tires. Traction could be lost, and the vehicle could roll over. Do not drive through rushing water. Caution Do not drive through standing water if it is deep enough to cover the wheel hubs, axles, or exhaust pipe. Deep water can damage the axle and other vehicle parts. If the standing water is not too deep, drive through it slowly. At faster speeds, water can get into the engine and cause it to stall. Stalling can occur if the exhaust pipe is under water. Do not turn off the ignition when driving through water. If the exhaust pipe is under water, the engine will not start. When going through water, the brakes get wet and it may take longer to stop. See “Driving on Wet Roads” later in this section.

Didn't mean to scare you. It'll probably be fine. If it has an issue, it'll tell you. Regen is about a 20-30 minute thing once everything is up to temp. If regen is interrupted it will continue next trip. (for 5 years, most regens on my LML were split over more than one of it's many daily short trips) Certainly there is no need for 120 mile trips for regen. (even on the LML 6.6's that took about 30 miles to do a complete regen) If after multiple attempts it cannot not reduce the soot load enough, it will give a message. The 3.0L exhaust filter system is different from the 6.6L ones. Exhaust filter is close coupled with engine in engine bay. I'm guessing one of the reasons for the exhaust system differences is to keep exhaust filter warm more easily.

I think they look fine, but except of a single year (2015), I've been running GM's with tow mirrors for about 15 years. I found that after running them for many years, that I really missed the improved visibility they provide. IMO, the current ones are a little 'dressier' than the ones from the previous generation. Yes, have them on my 2021 1500.

I had a hard folding cover that I used on 2015 and 2016 1500 standard bed 1500's. Returned to 2500 standard bed in 2018 and got a Retrax for it. Easier to open without getting in box (especially on the taller 2500...), Lockable in any position. Doesn't block rear window when open. Can be opened without opening tailgate, and tailgate and cover can be closed in any order. Anyway, change to current 2021 1500 standard bed. Liked the retrax enough that this truck now has one installed. On the standard bed, the front corner tiedowns are still accessible (don't know if that's true with a shortbox 1500). A long winded way of saying that FOR ME the advantages of how it works outweighed the disadvantages of the canister. They are pricey compared to some of the folding ones. Maybe they meant the pump that moves coolant for the intercooler that cools the air after it has been compressed by the turbo.

2020 Sierra Manual at page 172/3 (silverado is likely close...) Dome Lamps The dome lamp controls are in the overhead console. To operate, press the following buttons: jOFF: Press to turn off the dome lamps when a door is open. An indicator light on the button will turn on when the dome lamp override is activated. Pressj OFF again to deactivate this feature and the indicator light will turn off. The dome lamps will come on when doors are opened. ON/OFF : Press to turn the dome lamps on manually. Press again to turn the dome lamps off. Reading Lamps There are reading lamps on the overhead console and over the rear seats. These lamps come on when any door is opened. Front Reading Lamps The front reading lamps are in the overhead console. Press the lamp lenses to turn the front reading lamps on or off. Rear Reading Lamps The rear reading lamps are over the rear seats. Press the lamp lens to turn the rear reading lamps on or off.
