  1. Mines a '21 1500, but they'll have the same seat design. I've had some GM pickup seats that I didn't like -- but I think these seats are fine.
  2. I always understood the manual lever outputs up to the current gain setting. Procedure to set gain amount, drive 20-25mph, apply trailer brakes using the lever at max, adjust gain and repeat until the output is set to a point just below lock-up. I set the gain in gravel area near where the trailers are stored. I do know that with the gain set low, I can pull a trailer around and not lockup wheels with the lever at max, but with gain set to high the wheels will lock-up. In any case, set easy enough to set gain higher and give it a try....
  3. Seems to be some misunderstanding about the buttons on the wheel. The button that sets the gap sensor is NOT what activates adaptive cruise (on the 1500 pickups that have the option installed). Adaptive cruise uses the same buttons as normal cruise for turning on, setting speeds, pausing cruise etc. A long press of the button at the '9 o'clock' position can be used to change between cruise modes. The one that can be tapped to disengage cruise without shutting it off or erasing the set speed. This is the button that shows a dial with an X thru it. The truck remembers which mode it was in the last time cruise was used. When ACC is active, the gap button is used to adjust the following distance/time (it's actually time, so the faster travel results in more distance ) When ACC is not active (or the vehicle doesn't have ACC) the gap button adjusts the distance/time for the front collision alert warnings. ACC is not available on the GM HD's. Forward collision warning is available on the HD's -- so they get the gap adjust button. Pickups that don't have ACC, but do have FCA will have the gap button. Forward collision alert (and the 'gap' button was available on both LD and HD pickups for several years before ACC was introduced for the 1500's.
  4. I'll side with the OP on this one. No way it should leak, even if filled to top of the filler neck. I agree that when it clicks it's full -- unless it's a pump/nozzle that creates excessive foam. I'll also admit that I usually let the foam settle and give it another squeeze.... I'd want to correct the source of the leak.
  5. Yes. For sure. Here there are tire and wheel shops that have them available in sets or singles. Wheels can get damaged and need replaced .. Some want a second set of rims for a second set of tires. Some prefer the wheels that were offered on a different trim, or as an option -- but want a factory style.
  6. I'm no help with part numbers, but they must be available from GM as a crash part -- which suggests they could also be available thru accessories. They factory installed power fold tow mirrors on my '21 Denali 1500. What they don't have available (afailk) is power extend on the 1500 tow mirrors.
  7. GM's Order guide shows Z71 is NOT available as an option on either Trailboss. As others posted, the trailboss trucks are the only ones with the factory lift. All LTZ are crew cab GM says - for 4wd crewcab: short box 75.4" short box lifted 78.23"

If these conditions are found, check for loose bolts on the turbocharger actuator.   10. Guess I missed the part where you told the OP that the frame was dipped at the supplier, and not coated at the vehicle assembly plant. Sorry my trying to add to the conversation gets your knickers in a knot. GM probably discussed whether they needed to tell you who their supplier was, but then quickly realized that since you already know everything that they wouldn't need to tell you public information. While the frame supplier is published public information, afaik, the suppliers supplier is not.
  11. Frames are hung by the front and dipped in a tank of a wax product. Bolt in cross members (not wax dipped) are added later. They've been dipped at least since Magna got the business with the hydroform frames for the start of for the GMT800 program 20 years ago. There has been a Daubert product available for touch-ups as least that long. The coating should be smooth. The pics in this thread appear show a 'rough' surface on the frame -- overspray from undercoater reacting with the frame coating?   12. If you don't want it don't buy it. Cost used to be shared by all that bought vehicles. Now it's paid by those that want the system. I also don't like that its no longer a buried cost -- but the amount is insignificant compared to the rest of the costs of ownership.

  15. Not yet in the truck lanes at this truck stop. (I think it might be different if you have a fleet card of some sort) Not sure if that's because typical highway truck fuel and def purchases are going to be many times larger than what gets put in pickups. Same location has pay at pump for the auto fuel islands. No bulk def at the auto fuel islands, but boxes/jugs of def inside. Locally, DEF seems to be cheaper at bulk pump. I'm old, cheap and have time so the walk doesn't bother me. I usually run the def level close to empty, (one time I ran the 2018 6.6 all they way to empty just to see have the warnings worked), so at it's not many times per year.
  16. Anyone interested in finding out what their truck is really getting for def mileage, find a nearby bulk def location. Likely in a truck stop. Likely in the truck lanes. This 3.0L wasn't full when I got it so today I decided to fill it so at next fill I'll be able to calculate mpg. Anyway, with the new def fill beside the fuel fill it is super easy to use the bulk pumps. The do have auto shut off. I was in noisy fuel lanes so there was no way it would be possible to hear change in sound as fluid level starts up fill tube. DEF pump nozzle shut-off worked perfect. No splash back. Just like checking fuel mileage, the only way to check def mileage is to fill tank, record odometer, drive, refill tank. Miles driven divided by gallons to refill..... If the tank isn't filled at both the start or end of exercise, then the mpg is just a wild ass guess.

  18. Driving with IntelliBeam The system only activates the high beams when driving over 40 km/h (25 mph). The blue high-beam on light appears on the instrument cluster when the high beams are on. There is a sensor near the top center of the windshield that automatically controls the system. Keep this area of the windshield clear of debris to allow for best system performance. The high-beam headlamps remain on, under the automatic control, until one of the following situations occurs: . The system detects an approaching vehicle's headlamps. . The system detects a preceding vehicle's taillamps. . The outside light is bright enough that high-beam headlamps are not required. . The vehicle's speed drops below 20 km/h (12 mph). . The IntelliBeam system is disabled by the button on the turn signal lever. If this happens, press the button on the turn signal lever when the exterior lamp control is in the AUTO or Headlight On position to reactivate the IntelliBeam system. The instrument cluster light will come on to indicate the IntelliBeam system is reactivated.
  19. Had that system on a 2016. I bet you'll find the new system with the button on the end of the lever to be much more user friendly.
  20. Got a pleasant surprise when filling the 3.0L from a bulk def pump. Truck is still under 800 miles. Wasn't filled at delivery (this dealer used to do that, but doesn't now). DEF indicator was on or 2 LED's above 1/2. (I don't care about the indicator, having learned to manage DEF on the 2011, that didn't even the' DEF level OK message' system that later LML's and the 2017-2019 L5P used) Anyway, in order to be able to get a more accurate estimate of how much DEF it is consuming I decided today was the day to visit a bulk location (truck stop) and fill the DEF tank. (fwiw, indicator had moved to the 50% level) With the under hood fill system on the 2011 thru 2019 6.6 dmax's there was a catch tray around the fill point. It was easy to spill some there from jugs. The bulk pumps worked better with the bulk nozzles, but still wasn't not perfect as the location was a stretch. I found that the def fill beside the fuel fill was a MUCH bigger improvement than expected. (not needing a step stool is the first improvement) Truck stop had lots of lanes, no highway trucks were waiting, and a couple lanes were open. (Black Friday after all) Go in and do the prepay thing.. Bulk nozzle just slips into the opening in the fill tube. It was a noisy location, lots of idling trucks at the other fuel lanes). As I filled I realized there was not way I could hear the fluid in the fill tube, so I'm concernd about the possibility of splashback. I considered getting my ear closer to the nozzle -- but what if it splashes back? I'm thinking that if it splashes back my clothes are getting wet... Next thought was ok, if it splashes on my new truck or clothes, what is going to be the best way to wash it down -- water works, but no hose nearby. I guess I could go in and get a bottle of water if necessary. Anyway the nozzle clicked off with ZERO splash back. I released handle and squeezed again to be sure it was full. Clicked again, right away. I did get a drop on the plastic around the fill point when I took out the nozzle. Put the nozzle away, wiped up the drip. Record the odometer reading so mpg can be calculated after next def fill and we're done. Gotta admit, that I liked the old system where the def fill was at a separate location from fuel, to reduce the possibility of wrong fluid in wrong filler. This new fill point worked so slick that I'm now a convert. (although I haven't tried using it with jugs....and I'm not planning to either)
  21. For sure the LML had multiple sensors. With the Gm Tech2 there is a screen that would show which them as either 0/1, ( or on/off...). Pics of the screen were posted on several of the dmax and diesel forums a few years ago. I haven't heard if the L5P and the LM2 use the same system, but I suspect they do. My dealer didn't fill this LM2 at delivery. Said they only add a jug or whatever...(that dealer doesn't have bulk) I'm still under 1000 miles, but decided I'd go to a bulk location and fill it so I can get a more accurate estimate of how much it uses. Driving duties are similar, and mpg appears that it will be 20 - 25% better than the LML and L5P that I ran. I'm expecting def consumption to be an improvement on the 1100 -1200 mpg that I got running them.
  22. Z82 is gonna be an issue if you want (ZW9) bed delete, since picking bed delete option will also delete (Z82) trailer towing. Z82 is standard, if the bed is not deleted and the rear bumper is not deleted Is a slide-in out of the question?
  23. G80 locks when there is about 120rpm speed difference between the wheels. It's not a limited slip, and LS additive would not be used.
