They had 'cooled' seats (at least in the 1500's) in the full size pickups for a year or 2. In 2015 they were using a peltier cooler in the seats, and were not known for being very effective. In 2016 they changed to the ventilated only. Had both a 15 and a 16. The 2016 had higher airflow. Given a choice I'd take the 2016. The higher airlflow in the 2016 was more effective at reducing butt/back dampness than the 2015 cooled.

Good point -- and I was ignoring trim levels... Denali always was, and AT4 is now, only available in crew cab. Both are available in standard or short box. All AT4 are 4WD. Denali 2wd is available in short box only. Denali 4wd is available short or standard box.

There are many many many procedures that if done wrong are going to cause damage or future problems.

I'm confused about this. (although it wouldn't be the first time I misinterpreted somebodies post ?) All 1500 double cabs are standard box (6.5 ft) 1500 crews are available in short box or standard box. 1500 crew short, is about the same length as 1500 double cab standard box. The only 1500 that can get a long box (8ft) is the regular cab -- and (this generation) regular cab has not been released in north america with the standard box The 'double cab' design replaced the 'extended cab' design in the GM line-up. Double cab has 4 forward hinged doors -- but they are not the same size as the doors on the crew cab. For 2021 the crewcab is still available with either the short box or the standard box.

No likely to happen. It's been a duramax complaint as long as they've had regeneration -- so since 2007... GM's intent is that it not impact operation of the vehicle, so no need to notify when it happens.

'Short trips' are hard on any engine.

The HD's still use hydraulic steering. They get the same manual, so it has power steering reservoir references -- but only for the 6.6L gasser.

No need to use the terminology with the fabricator. Enough to just say you want to tune the sound. Many years since I did any exhaust system design for sound level attenuation. Are you planning to experiment with diameters as well? Interested to see the posts about how it works out!

There is a Daubert product in spray cans for repairing the wax coating. Don't be to hard on the dealer if you've had an aftermarket product applied.....

Some dealers DO have an excellent body shop. Make your choice based on the quality of the body shop, not on whether they are associated with a dealer or not.

FWIW. the 2500's are taller than both standard and (factory) lifted 1500's.

The 6.6 Dmax is probably still using a temperature sensor in the passenger mirror for engine control. The temp displayed in the radio is from a sensor behind the grill.

Factory ones aren't sprayed over. The spray-in material is tough stuff. Cutting it to remove the plugs for tie-down install wouldn't be a fun job.

If comparing ride on different vehicles, don't forget that wheel/tire package, as well as tire pressure also impact the ride.

Perhaps the need to use tools is a reminder to disconnect the harness that so many tailgates now have?
