Take the screws out and see if it comes off without drilling the rivet. Perhaps the rivet is to fasten a 'spacer' on the back of the splashguard when there are no wheelwell liners, and isn't fastened to fender. Just a guess, but costs nothing to try just the screws first.

I seems they are not rolling it out to all trucks at once. Probably means it cannot be forced from the update screen in the truck until it is made available to the trucks vin. Last line of the bulletin about the update says It may take several weeks for this update to hit your vehicle.

Spray in bed liner? Plastic throw-in bed liner? Factory painted bed floor? Worried about bed floor scratches or just tailgate getting dented when folded down. 42" x 48" pallet (or similar)? I've loaded 100's of pallets with similar loads and don't think I've ever hit a tailgate. Maybe the forklift/forks are too small for the pallet size and load being handled? It's not tough to set a pallet partway in and get another bite to push it the rest of the way -- while staying safely away from the tailgate (or bumper, if tailgate has been removed).

The OM says the max number of fobs is 8. Programming Transmitters to the Vehicle Only RKE transmitters programmed to this vehicle will work. If a transmitter is lost or stolen, a replacement can be purchased and programmed through your dealer. Each vehicle can have up to eight transmitters programmed to it. See your dealer for transmitter programming. I believe the max number of keys is also 8. Not sure if it's the true with the GM fobs, but I have fobs for another vehicle that are a 2-way learn. Once programmed to a vehicle, they cannot be programmed to another vehicle. (makes stolen fobs worthless....)

It might be an issue with the transfer points in your area, but even GM can't fix the railroad.

Al vs poly? Aluminum will hold more, but if there is weight on it (someone stands/walks on for example) there is a good chance that the coating will get scratched. If scratched thru the coating -- the al colour will show. Poly isn't rated to hold as much. If it does get scratched -- it's still black. Had poly version on last truck. Since GM decided to change the box sizes an new one is required. Another poly is on the way.

Ran a 2018 L5P for 3 years with zero issues. 2017, 2018 and 2019 L5P were 'old' body style and used the 2011 thru 2019 chassis 2020 and 2021 L5P is in front of the new 10 speed transmission. Body and chassis are all new. Cooling system is significantly bigger. Fan is bigger diameter and fan drive is now it's own belt, separate from rest of accessories. Banks has a youtube showing side-by-side L5P for 2020+ and '17-19, reviewing/discussing the changes .

Any chance you've changed the weight distribution on/in the trailer? May not be the issue, but changing weight distribution can change the way a trailer pulls --- and induce sway.

If GM thinks it has it, then it must be a 1500 and have the option? (and this thread is in the wrong section) Did you switch it to regular cruise? The vehicle will remember which cruise was last used, and will return to that mode the next time it is started. DIC should give a message when you switch modes.

Get a QR code reader app for a phone and take a shot of the QR code on the label on the bottom of the doorpost. It won't have all the rpo's but does have some. With the vin, you can contact GM social media and get a build sheet emailed to you. With the vin, any dealer can print the sheet for you. Is the 'window sticker' with the manuals for the truck? Last few we've purchased it's been with the manuals. I believe the window sticker can also be reprinted. FWIW, the AT4 High clearance step is a dealer installed item. VXW NEW! OP's first post. He may have a 1500, and posted in wrong section. If he has an HD, he's not the first that mistakenly thought the HD's had adaptive cruise. We have it on a 1500. It can be easily switched to regular cruise and of course can be switched off. (unlike some vehicles that the choice is adaptive cruise or nothing). Sometimes I use and like the adaptive. Some situations I prefer regular cruise. Sometimes I prefer to just drive. Like most 'auto' functions, and like regular cruise, it reduces, but does not eliminate, the need for driver adjustments and input.

Did you get it working? For others that may be interested. You can easily 'test' the camera without installing. I created a trailer profile. Just entered a name and basic info. You may be able to use the 'guest' trailer entry -- but I didn't try it. Connected trailer plug to truck. I did NOT connect the truck to the trailer. The alignment key on the truck plug is at the top -- where it's hard to see -- it is possible to push the plug part way in with the notch/key not correctly aligned. Naturally it goes in further, and much easier, with it correctly aligned. Incorrectly pushed in lights won't work and 'check trailer wiring' message is likely to pop up. Selected the named trailer from the list -- or create a name if that wasn't already done. Verified that the trailer lights are working. Used the trailer lighting test feature that cycles through the blinker/4way etc to eliminate a lot of walking and to not need a helper. (they should have added light test feature years ago...) Camera will NOT function unless the trailer plug is installed so the trailer lights are working. Seems the software doesn't turn on the camera module unless trailer lights working. Unwrap enough cord from the camera so that it can be plugged in without fear of the camera lens getting damaged. Plug in camera. Use the 'rear of trailer' connection In the trailer app press the cameras button. Will be able to use the choices button to select the camera only, or the camera in combo with the mirror camera. On mine this button was on the bottom LHS of the screen. Repeated pushes of the button will scroll thru the mirror / rear camera combos.

2020 OM: If the vehicle is left parked and running with the RKE transmitter inside the vehicle, it will continue to run for up to an hour. The timer will reset if the vehicle is taken out of P (Park) while it is running.

https://gm-techlink.com/?p=13675 Engine Oil Pressure Gauge Changes Based on Engine Needs September 17, 2020 Engine lubrication on all 2019-2020 Silverado 1500 and Sierra 1500 trucks is supplied by a variable displacement oil pump. An oil control solenoid valve, controlled by the Engine Control Module (ECM), is mounted to the oil pump and varies engine oil pressure according to engine needs. As a result, the oil pressure may change quickly as the engine speed or load varies. Oil pressure may also vary with outside temperature and oil viscosity. All of these factors play a role in the oil pressure displayed on the engine oil pressure gauge on the instrument cluster. (Fig. 16) In certain driving conditions, the oil pressure reading may drop or change quickly, which is part of normal engine operation. Some customers may question engine operation if the gauge shows more fluctuation and lower standard operating pressure than on previous models. Fig. 16 Any engine conditions that are outside of the normal operating range and require service will be indicated by a message on the Driver Information Center (DIC). A DTC may set and the oil pressure warning light may or may not illuminate, depending on the engine condition. If a DIC message is not displayed, the engine and the oil pressure gauge are operating as designed and no repairs should be attempted. The engine oil level, recommended viscosity, and condition are critical to the correct operation of the system. Remind customers to check the engine oil level regularly and follow all scheduled maintenance. Variable Oil Pressure The engine oil pressure control solenoid valve is used to control engine oil pressure inside the mechanical engine oil pump. (Fig. 17, shown on V8 engine RPOs L82, L84, L87) The control module controls the commanded state of the solenoid valve based on the following inputs: Engine speed Calculated engine oil temperature Engine oil pressure Engine run time When the solenoid valve is commanded Off, oil pressure is higher. When the solenoid valve is commanded On, oil pressure is lower. Fig. 17 TIP: On the 2.7L engine (RPO L3B), oil pressure may be as low as 26-28 psi (179-193 kPa) under normal operating conditions at road speed. The oil pressure at this level is normal and is not associated with any engine durability issues. If the oil pressure is not correct for current conditions, as commanded from the ECM to the variable oil pump, a DIC message will be displayed.
