Makes sense. Matches up with what I found checking my cord with a DVM . Also makes sense with the issue some had with 3.0L's that were plugged in above 0*F. I'd still like to know if the got the revision for the 3.0L done, if it gets updated to early production 3.0L's and if/when a production change was implemented.

The guy I deal with always checks for updates of programming and calibrations when I'm signing a vehicle in. Sometimes it's an issue known from the forums, but often it is not. I'm always surprised how many there are.

I thought the shutters were only on the 1500's? Did they add them to the HD's? Trucks used daily, live outside, I don't use block heater, and somewhere around here there are several winter fronts still sealed in the plastic they came in. I'm finding that in (+ or -) single digit (F) temps the 6.6 dmax's warmed up quite a bit faster than this 3.0L. 6.6L elevated idle also warms the transmission much more that what I'm seeing on the 3.0L

If you want to check for it, the block heater RPO code is K05. It is standard with the LM2, and optional with others. (same with the 6.6L dmax on HD) afaik, the only options that are provided depending on delivery locations are the winterfront / cover for the 6.6L dmax and the front license plate mounting for both LD's and HD's

I've had zero issues with mine. I use adaptive cruise everytime I'm in it. HVAC left in auto almost always.

Tested warm it checks out the same as a 'normal' extension cord. If it has a thermostat, it doesn't break the circuit when it's warm. Picture is distorted for some reason. (stretched L/R)

You don't think that 13 months is long enough for them to update the calibration to correct an identified issue? Easy enough for a dealer to check to see if a VIN has any outstanding updates.

Any idea how the thermostat works? I got curious and checked the cord for mine. It had been at 50F ambient. I brought it to warmer area and ohmmeter test indicates each socket on female end is connected to one blade (and open to the others) on the male end. I would have guessed if it had a thermostat that at least one circuit would be check as an open, and/or others combos might show resistance indicating a load rather than as an open. Maybe different cords depending on delivery locations?

We've had lots in the upper teens. but last night it was low single digits by 11pm. It had climbed to about 8F by the time I decided to see how it would start this am without the block heater - - and as expected (based on years of starting the 6.6L diesel in similar temps, without use of the block heater) it fired right up with none of the hesitation or rough running that older diesels had a reputation for having. Round about way of saying that in the low 30's you won't need the block heater for a dmax.

It happens. Station in British Columbia. Fuel tanker driver dropped on compartment of diesel into the underground gas tank, and one compartment of gasoline into the underground diesel tank. Station sold fuel for about 4 hours before the problem was identified. Does it just clamp on the flange of the fender? Fold over part make it so it can't move outward (the edge of the fold-over pushes in the inside of the fender. hidden by the flange, while the portion on the outside of the fender keeps the guard from moving inboard. No-drill so not adding a new location for rust to start in visible location.

Beginning in 2012, oil pumps began to regulate main gallery feedback instead of pump output pressure, which means that the oil pump does not begin to regulate until pressure is built up to the main gallery. This change reduces the amount of time it takes to provide oil to the engine bearing and lifters during extreme cold start conditions. To meet these new engine operating requirements, the oil filter specifications of production oil filters and service oil filters have been improved. If a replacement oil filter with an internal bypass valve opening pressure specification of 15 PSI (100 kPa) or less is used, debris could circulate in the engine and cause damage to bearings and other tight tolerances areas, and eventually lead to premature engine failure. PF64 and PF63 Filters The PF64 and PF63 (Fig. 20) filters are commonly confused as an ACDelco PF48 and/or PF48E filter because both oil filters have the same appearance and oil can size. However, these oil filters are not the same and have different internal bypass valve opening pressure specifications. The PF48/PF48E has a pressure specification of 15 PSI (100 kPa) while the PF64/PF63E has a pressure specification of 22 PSI (150 kPa). Fig. 20 Refer to the Electronic Parts Catalog (EPC) to determine the proper part numbers for a replacement oil filter.  If an aftermarket filter is used, it must have an internal bypass valve opening pressure specification, element integrity, filtration performance, media particle trap specification and burst strength that is equivalent to the original production oil filter.

TPW is also always shown as the Monday of the week. If the behind the scenes schedule is for it to be build early in the week, it probably happens. If the behind the scenes is for OT build on Saturday, it might slip to the next week. VIN isn't issued until there is a vehicle to stick it to. (iirc, there are federal regs regarding creation/issuing of the 'production sequence number' )

11.10.1 Sensitivity Level The iDash 1.8's automatic wakeup uses battery voltage drop when cranking the vehicle. The wake-up sensitivity level allows you to adjust the iDash 1.8's sensitivity to the voltage drop. Some vehicles have greater voltage drops than others and would need to set the sensitivity to the low setting. If the gauge is interfering with OnStar or other similar services, decrease the sensitivity one level lower. To adjust the wake-up sensitivity level: 1. Select "Settings" from the main "MENU." 2. Select "Wake-up Sensitivity Level." 3. Select the desired sensitivity level ("Sensitivity Level: Low", "...Medium", "...High"). If unsure, set to "Sensitivity Level: Low" and then: A. Turn off your vehicle and wait for the iDash to go to Sleep Mode. B. Restart your vehicle and the iDash should start within 10 seconds after startup. C. If it does not automatically wake-up, press any button to wake. Increase sensitivity level by one and repeat the process. 11.10.2 Start/Stop For vehicles with engine start/stop functionality: When enabled, the iDash 1.8 will not shut off when RPM drops below 600 rpm. Instead, the vehicle will check for vehicle communication to the ECU to determine if the vehicle is shut off. It will also take longer for the iDash 1.8 to go into sleep mode. For those considering 4wd for the first time be aware that the shifts between 2wd, 4HI and 4auto can be made at any normal driving speed. Shifting into or out of 4LO requires that speed be 3mph or less (moving a little is better than stationary) and the transmission must be in neutral. 4LO has it's place, but it is much less convenient to activate.
